What Students Say
Likes
- All girls college, no boys hence no unnecessary competition
- The college feels like a safe place with really good connections
- The teachers are extremely helpfull and freindly
Dislikes
- Due to reservation there are all kinds of people. One of my classmate was so uneducated she didn't know the purpose of this course until a month of getting in.
- Very hectic schedule. This is a professional course. So the classes run 6 days a week from 8am to 5.30 pm. The college litterally feels more like a job than a school
- Backlogs can accumulate fairly quickly. You always need to be on your toes.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course is more or less very close to journalism (BJMC), with more carrier options like cinematography etc. we get a real world insight on what actually goes behind the tv screen be it the news or movies. The exams are not very difficult but you do need to attend the college regularly to know what is really going on.
Internships Opportunities
You can get into a bunch of internships from flyers that come floating around. But most don't pay you or, you get no to very little stipend. You need to get into an internship mostly on your own efforts.
Placement Experience
Avg salary- 4.80 lakh Median salary- 5.50 lakh Highest salary- 18.75 lakh Salary is not very great but it really depends more on where you pursue your masters from. The recruiters include tira beauty and amazon.
Fees and Financial Aid
So this course is one of the self funded courses offered by du so the fee is relatively high. But excellent course overall. I wanted either this or BJMC (this college was my 3rd preference). I got 632/750 in CUET. (2nd round)
Campus Life
Most students are either from delhi or live off campus. The college provides accomodation but it is not too great. There are two hostels you can get into IP Hostel which is on campus and KG Hostel which is off campus.
Admission
I got into this college through cuet. For general category you need around 600 marks for this course. And around 570 if you have reservations. So it is comparatively lower than most courses in IP College/DU.
Faculty
So each course has a different ratio. For my course in every lecture the entire batch size which is around a 100 students sit. But for lectures we are divided into groups. Their are also additional classes like VAC and SEC, for which you go to different departments, the class size for these may vary (20-120!). The faculty is great just like in all other DU colleges it really does upon you. Their are class tests and mid semester exams which are also graded along with the end semester exams. The attendance also makes up a considerable portion.
