Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is relevant and comprehensive with strong alignment to industry standard. Specific areas like labs , projects are the factors that make this more intresting but still there is a need for more faculties to supervise the students on the projects and help them to work on them in a guided manner. Frequent industry seminars and workshops , guest lectures help to bridge the academic learning with real life applications ,but some more interactive teaching methods would be beneficial.

Placement Experience

4

The placements have been very good since last few years. The average package stands there at 4-4.5 LPA , the lowest package offered would be 3.25 LPA and the highest has been 54 LPA not totally sure. By the end of 6th semester the students are eligible for registering in the placement drives and the time 7th semester starts the placements drives begins. I am in my 7th semester , till now around 10-12 companies have visited the college for job roles of software developer , full stack developer , ui/ux designer , data analyst , etc. 3 months have passed and around 350 students have recieved offers from atleast one company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fee for my batch that is 21-25 was 310000 per year (approx) , which means 158000 per semester (approx) , it includes : tution fee for 158000 , one time payable amount including admission fee , enrollment fee and caution money of 10000 , 2000 , 5000 respectively. There is examination fee of 8000 , library fe of 4000 , insurance fee of 1000 , student wellfare fee for 1500 , sports fee 1000 , online portal fee 1000 and transportation fee of 2500 , this sums up for 19000 yearly and 10000 half yearly. Disocunt for Uttarakhand domicile holder is 25% on tution fee , 5 % off for defence ward , and scholarship amount on the basis of jee mains percentile and 12th percentile. Three stars because there is some amount of money included in fees that should not be added when that activity is not utilised by the student. for ex the transportation fee is cumpolsory for everyone whether that student uses it or not , etc.

Campus Life

5

The biggest event of Graphic Era is the Grafest conducted every year at a very large scale with great artist that comes to perform in the campus. It goes on for 3 days and is very popular among dehradun and every student in graphic era. The social life is good , students are humble and friendly , there is no point of ragging or any misconduct inside the college parameters. There are various clubs that supports the personality of an individual and according to the interest the student can enroll in it.

Admission

This college is near to the location where i live , the accomodation was easier for me, talking about comparison , this college has far better results than any other in the city in terms of placements and faculties. The fees always holds a major part as the scholarships and domicile disocunt provides a good percent of cut on the fees. I tried for JEE mains and to get another college too but it didnt work out for me , also that i have plans for future that are not just about IT industry so this also helps me to keep those two things parallely working out for me, The admission process is not very hectic , your basic information documents like marksheets and aadhar card with photographs would be needed to register and enroll , the discounts and scholarship is calculated at the time to fee submission.

Faculty

4

The ratio is about average , allowing decent access to faculty while still managing larger groups. Faculty members are generally approachable, willing to help but ocassionally there may be a few instances of rudeness but no that frequent. There is always a mix of professor that students tend to favor of feel indifferent toward, depending on teaching style and engagement level. While specific names cant be share but students usually find certain teacher highly effective and inspiring while others might come across as less engaging. The course is largely relevant and aligned with industry standards providing foundational as well as specialized knowledge. Exams are genreally considered manageable in difficulty, out of a batch of aroudn 1500 students , approx 120-16- struggle to clear exams , indicating that while most of them pass a small percentage faces challenge.

Placements of GEU are like literal fun because they are absolutely fine and every student atleast gets an opportunity to try his luck. So what more needed if that happens as placements is what we work hard for and our university rewards really well to us. Students here get placements in dream companies like Microsoft and Amazon.

Room for placements can't be better than GEU. As our department which isn't much in demand and still over 80% of placements rate itself is a story worth telling. I am so glad that it is happening and this is the reason I feel so good studying here as I can't do more as placements care are taken by the university very well.

It's in the final year as once the final year begins, students are asked to pull their socks up and go limitless as nearly 100 or rather much more are there at the campus and interest in CSE students is the highest. Also, there's a large section of IT students who are placed from GEU every year and that too without much of an effort.

One of the best thing I saw here is placement. If a student is willing to do job then this college is appropriate place from him or her.. Students are placed in IT , SALES , FINANCE, EDTECH , TRANSPORT, DRUGS , etc Students are eligible for jobs and placed from the beginning of pre final semester and can apply in each and every company as per required skills. Not big tech Faang companies visit the campus but a decent level IT companies and limited visit the campus. And conduct their interviews and exams process. Although interview rounds are tough and offcourse nail biting competition among the students. The highest package this year till now 34 LPA by an American MNC . Average package is 550000. Approximately 90 percent students got placed in different domains and fields. My plans are so clear. I will take the job first in IT companies and get some experience on ground level and will grow further.

On and average placements worth 6-40 LPA are common. Since some students miss out so on a whole the placements average stands a little below 10 LPA.

One don't have to go round and round as placements are done well within the time as most students here are placed by 7th semester. Those who left behind can try their luck on day zero as we have mass companies coming for a 3 day event and hire as many as they can.

The placements of this particular college are not good as much as i have heard about the placements of this university's before batches. They are still fighting and trying to get better placements for the senior batches which I wish they get it done, or i dont know what will happen in my time. The 7th or 8th semester is the one from which the students become eligible for campus placements. The name of the companies which offered were TCS, Infosys, HCL, Amazon, ICICI Bank etc. the average package of the college is about 4-5 LPA. Onlu 50-60% of the students or lesser are getting placements in the college. My plans are to do Mtech afterwards i complete my btech course in this college.
