Dislikes
- The location of the campus is a bit rempote and far from the main city and one may end up paying more than required to transport.
- The Faculty of the IT department is not upto the mark but teaching pattern and examination style balances the load
- There is no non veg food available in the campus which is a big turn down for non vegeterians like me
Course Curriculum Overview
Overall Knowledge of applications of software and executions in computer systems. The curriculam enables a overall growth in understanding computer architechtures and processors. The teaching methods should increase the use of AV model not only in thoery classes but also lab classes. The frequency is quite tight with continous evaluation happening time to time
Internships Opportunities
Companies which provided internship were SAP LABS, Ardent, Saphhire and cognizant and few other skill leveling coachings. projects like Website builder, Application runner and money manager are provided.
Placement Experience
From semester 4 the internship drives are on in this course and semester 5 the students are selected for placement drives. Some companies which visited are Google, Sap Labs, IBM, amazon, Cognizant, Hp. The highest package offered this year was 6.7 lpa and average was 3 lpa. Around 40% students are placed. I am planning to pursue a masters in CA after this course.
Fees and Financial Aid
1st year you will be paying 80500 for the 1st semester and 60500 for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th semestercosts 64500 each and the last 2 semesters cost 67500 with no additional charges whatsoever. The above fees is inclusive of registration, tuition and admission fee with 20000 as security deposit which is refunded after the completetion of the course. With scholarship one gets 25% to 50% rebate in the 1st 2 sems but no more in the rest. It is baseds on board +2 marks
Campus Life
Annual fest Amiphoria is held in the month of february and ocassional events for festivals and freshers and winter party are in alternate months of the calendar. Amity kolkata has a best in class library with having books of all topics and all age groups. The classroom are well lit and air conditioned with every class having a projector. Sports like basketball, swimming, badminton, volleyball, TT, football are all available to play in the campus. There is all kinds of club for students which are runned by the student itself and the events are headed by the registar of the college.
Admission
I appied in colleges like Christ bangalore, VIT, Nhims, Symbiosis and got confirmed offer letter too. I choose amity because of the name of the brand and affordabilty of the course compared to others. The admission process in amity is very simple comprising of an online test by recording video answers of basic domain knowledge and general trivia.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is around 1 is to 30. Faculty is very approachable but is not that efficient. The HOI is the only person to trust blindly and wish to take lectures more and more. The faculties which i did not like thankfully left the institution in past few days. The Diffulty is standard in examinations and invilgation is one of the best.
