Fees and Financial Aid

The Fees structure for GGSIPU can vary slightly from year to year and may depend on factors like the specific college within the university, category ( Management, SC,ST etc) and any changes in the goverment policies. It was always recomended by the accounting department to contact the University directly and stay up to date on the official website. However, We never needed to becuase the department was very kind, helpful and always displayed genuine interest and empathy towards solving or troubleshooting any of our problems and also kept us notified about any changes. If i had to give a fees breakdown for my course- BA(JMC) it would be like this : Tution Fees: Makes up the main component of the fees and covers cost of instructions. Caution Deposti: A refundable deposit that is returned at the end of the course Registration Fees: Fees for registering with the university. Admission Fees: Charged during admission. Development Fees: contributed towards the development of the university. Lab Fees: Fees for using the lab facilities. Other compulsory Charges: libary or other miscellaneous charges. Year Wise reakdown: Other Fees Total (Approx) 1st Year: ?1 Lkah ?20,000 ? 1.2 lakh 2nd Year ? 1.1 lakh ?20,000 ? 1.3 lakh 3rd ? 1,2 lakh ? 20,000 ? 1.4 lakh Kinds of Scholarships : Ofcourse GGSIPU also provides scholarhsips based on merit and need, such as : 1.Merit Based Scholarships 2. This fosters a sense of community and provides opportunities for personal and social development. And i cannot leave the Alumni network out of this- GGSIPU can be oftenly spotted on Linkedin profiles for each industry and field of work i explore. But being a Fresher with a degree in journalism and mass communication under my belt i was relieved to see the strong numbers of Professionals GGSIPU has launched into this field.

Faculty

4

I would describe the Faculty as Realists who might not always be nice to you for and forgive errors on projects but they are kind to correct you and motivate you on the right path and demotivate you from taking wrong ones. The practical vivas during external exams were particularly tough, most average students too didnt have a good experience the caliber it required surprisingly above our expectations. It is hard to fail this course when you have great faculty that is friendly but at the same time balances as role model.

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.
