- You won't be allowed to leave the campus after 10 pm unless in case of emergency
- Library is not open 24*7 and it has timing of 8 am to 9 pm
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of ece is very updated and relevant to industry requirements. Also the amount of open electives available makes the course very flexible. The course curriculum can be further improved with addition of more embedded and vlsi courses. teaching methods include the use of projector. The exams are not frequent neither difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies comes for internship for roles of sde,core engineering,quant, finance, and many students even go for research internship in various organisations and IIT's. Faculties are very helpful in making us achieve these goals
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus internship from 5th semester and for placement from 7th semester. Average package is around 13 lpa and highest is 82 lpa. All types of companies in quant,core, software sector visits for various roles.many even go for higher studies abroad. I plan to do masters after graduation
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee is taken twice a year at the beginning of the semester. Tuition Fee for general/obc/gen-ews is 60000, while for sc/st, no tuition fee is needed. 2/3rd fees is waved if your family income is below 5lpa and total fee is waived if the income is below 1lpa. other charges includes 20k which needs to be paid by everyone. You can get scholarship/loan through various means available in the campus.
Campus Life
There are two types of main fest, one is technical fest aarohan other is recstacy the cultural fest. Our college also has multiple minimum fest like e summit, wavecraze,virasat organised by different clubs. There are 22 different technical and cultural clubs to join which is student run and also each branch has a student society too. Sports facilities are adequate with many outdoor and indoor sports.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are very good and affordable. The hostel fee includes the mess fee as well which comes around 20k per semester. Hostel has adequate washroom,lifts and geysers,water coolers are also provided and rooms are well ventilated and sizeable. Mess menu is decided by a student committee and the mess food taste is decent. Hygiene is not an issue
Admission
I choose this college as I got it through giving jee. You need to get minimum 98.5 percentile in jee to get admission in ece in nit durgapur.i chose this course and I was interested in core engineering and ece also has great placements here
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 1:7. Faculties are very nice and they are helpful and approachable. ece department faculties are the best here. There is a mid sem exam and end term exam every semester and a small continuous assessment test which can be taken any time. The grading is absolute and it's possible to have a cg above 7.0 with minimal efforts. The course is very relevant to the industry requirement
