GEC Thrissur in a nutshell

Curriculum changes in every 5 years in our university.. 2015 scheme followed by 2019 and later now 2024 schema is going on.. The latest one is the much better version than others I guess In the new curriculum, core subjects are taught from 1st year onwards which is a good attempt

Intership offers are passed to students via placement and assistance cell.. senior teachers will help very well in projects and gate preparation. We have got opportunity to work with kerala police as a part of a government mission in Thrissur district

Mainly 7,8 sem students are appearing for placements,, rarely 3rd students do apply for it.. Highest package this year was 33 LPA,visa.. Lowest package is not applicable as many are going for higher studies

As it is government Engineering College under Kerala government fee structure is affordable.every semester will have an average 8k fees for dte,for reservation students this will be refunded after approval of the funds from government.. For me being a student under sc category ,the fee at the time of registration was very low around 4k,other category students had to pay 11k for registration,joining of clubs such as iste,bus fees etc There's many scholarships available for students such as egrantz (governmental),any many other private scholarships whose details are shared by the faculty

There's is enough facilities to enjoy the campus..nights are active than most of the colleges.Dyuthi ,multifest of GEC is the the greatest event in GEC.A wide range of exibitions, technical workshops,events, cultural programs are assured.. Working of various clubs are fine enough such as iste,ieeee,mulearn

I applied for CET Trivandrum as well as GEC Thrissur..I got admitted in gec in cse.. since it was having a good ranking in the state and GEC is located very near to my home i preferred GEC over any other colleges Admission process completed within half a day and everything was on point

Subjects are handled by experienced as well as newly joined faculties..even we had an iit alumni as teacher who always encourages for Gate preparation. Some of the fresher teachers are clueless initially and they take time to adjust to the system. Each semester has got an end semester examination,2 internal exams,2 lab exams (int and ext) Internal exams are based on the syllabus the respective teacher taught and can be of various degree of toughness
