Course Curriculum Overview

2

Since the microbiology field is all about the research and practical work the curriculum doesnot aligns with the current inustrial and research needs. The curriculum of some sujects is outdated .There is need for the addition of more practical work in the curriculum for better understanding of the subject.

Placement Experience

2

The students are eligible for placements in their last semester but the students are prepared for the placements in the previous semester itself. Many companies visit the campus for placements but only a few get core jobs rest get placed in marketing and sales. Most of the students go for PHDs in India as well as abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for Msc.Microbiology is 150,000(With 75000/- per semester) and many scholarships are available with different criterias such as merit,need-cum-merit scholarship ,defence scholarship etc.The college application fee is 1600/- and one time admission fee is 10,000 .The examination fee is also taken at the end of each semester which 900-950/-.

Campus Life

4

The campus has a lot of diversity ,students from all over the India and from foreign countries are here contributing to diverse campus. There a many clubs one can join according to their interests -like music club, dance club,NSS,YCC etc.The Yogananda library is a dream for book lovers .The library not only provides academic books but a variety of different genres of books as well.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are nice, clean and well- furnished providng a bed with mattress, cupboard, table and chair, bookshelf and shoe rack. The laundry facility is available as well.Proper hygiene is maintained in the mess and while handling food. The food is nice and mess menu is revised every month.

Admission

I decided to join this university because i wanted to go for research and this university has many international collaborations and faculty is very involved in the research on different topics. The admission process was smooth ,computer based MCQ test-testing student on basic general knowledge followed by interview by faculty member.

Faculty

4

The class strength is 30 students so teachers to student ratio is balanced. The faculty is very friendly , helpful and very approachable .The faculty i like is Dr.Nitika Thakur ,she is so multitalented and most understanding teacher. There are three exams throughtout the semester -two midterms and one end semester exam. The weightage of both mindterms matters a lot in the final grade. The assignements and quizzes also hold a major weightage in internal assessment. The exams are easy to clear if the student is attentive in class and has attended the classes regularly. The university follows relative marking for grading.

Placement Experience:

Placements are mainly offered in the 4th year. Companies start to approach students in the 7th semester. Students get internship offers in 3rd year (by 5th semester). Paytm, Amazon, Infosys, IBM, Qualcomm, and Samsung are major companies which come to campus for placement. But the no of companies coming for placement is not sufficient. The highest package offered is generally above 1 Cr. But the average is somewhere around 7-8 lakh per year. Most of the students in CSE and ECE are placed (MNC is a new branch so data regarding this is unavailable). Placements in other branch are not good.
