Course Curriculum Overview

4

- The curriculum is based on 4 - 5 main stream subjects per semester along with 1 additional swayam course and 1 open elective to be cleared furthermore there may be other courses the university may require you to complete for grading. - The curriculum is project based and provides real world knowledge about various fields. - there is an exam nearly every month. - the STs are mostly about 1-1.5 hours long and the ETE is 3 hours long

Internships Opportunities

4

- I am still learning and have not done any interships but i have created a few projects of my own which includes ones form hardware electronics, websites and APIs etc, - Though the university does provides interships with partner companies and many studnets get PPOs

Placement Experience

3

- Students are eligible for placements after the start of 3rd year and can apply for various companies visiting the placement cell. - I heared the highest package was about 1.21 crores and the average package was about 4 - 5 lakhs. - about 80 - 85% students get placed - I am thinking of continuing as a software developer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester fees : 100000 Security fees to be paid only at time of admission : 20000 Hostel fees (for four seater attached washroom): 1st year : 66000 2nd year : 72000 and it will increase per year No scholarships available except for the government approved ones.

Campus Life

4

- The campus life is fun. There are many events you can apply to and attend, There is a DJ night almost every month and technical based events like workshops and hackathons are available every week. - The library though doesn't do justice, it is too small, too crowded and mostly a couple spot. - we mostly work on our laptops and thus there is an electric switch at every spot on the desks for us to use. - The chitkara sports club provides many fun activities for us to enjoy and play. - There are hundreds of CLUBs in the University and you can be part of many of them. - The main portal is Chalkpad pro.

Hostel Facilities

4

- we have a four seater attached washroom room, it is cleaned everyday and the quality is marvellous - the mess is better than other collages and we get some special menu items every now and then. - The portal for applying for hostel is Uhostel, it is quite affordable compared to other collages but the seats are limited.

Admission

- I applied for Chandigarh university and cleared the admission. But later i learned the truth about that university - less intelligent classmates and too much crowd, lack of security , etc. and decided not to go there so here i am at chitkara university. - The more you score in your board exams the more you would be preferred, after the document check just pay the fees you are good to go!.

Faculty

4

- the faculty to student ratio is about 2:35 . Most of the faculty is approcable and friendly and they help in everything you might need or even get you out of trouble - I liked every one of them - There are 3 STs and 1 end term examination. Overall they are quite easy. There are rarely andy backlogs and infact many students score top marks.

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science and Engineering)

It had much less intelligent and too much crowd

Lovely Professional University - [LPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

It was more of a tourist spot than a university.

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read
