Course Curriculum Overview

2

Choosing this course was just due to hype around the CSE course and package offered here. Real-world applications are there but not that useful. They are teaching us how to make resumes and email writing but by pen and paper like many things are taught here but it is useful but not directly. Timing for the second shift is worse, and classes and mess clash sometimes we have to run to classes without having lunch and we have lunch all of us are yawning in class and sometimes we come from sports and yoga all sweaty and going to classes. Anyway, that food is not that good.

Internships Opportunities

4

I am not sure about other branches but CSE and IT seniors said they were provided with a special internship program during holidays but the problem they even charged for this. They said that they helped them a bit with placement.

Placement Experience

3

Students from the 4th year become eligible for placement and for internship, we are eligible for 3rd year. As I am in 1st year I don't know about that much exact status of placement. My plan is to prepare for IES if I don't get a good placement from the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year-wise fees is around 5 lakhs including course fees, hostel fees, and mess fees. Tuition fees - 4 lakhs per annum Caution fees - 10,000 one time Registration fees - 65,000 one time including laptop fees that are provided by college Mess fees - 46,000 per annum Hostel fee: 3 bedded non ac- 56,000 per annum 3 bedded ac - 1,00,000 per annum Fees for other courses vary from 1,75,000 to 1,90,000 for other than CSE and its specialization.

  • Scholarship is available for meritorious students either through getting a rank under 1000 in the KiiT admission test and maintaining a 7 cgpa and 75 per cent in college or topping in your respective course.

I took admission in 2024 and course fees increased this year only. If you want to be admission to a college with a good sports facility then you should consider it but you will not be allowed to go there in 1st year at least till midterm exception is sports and yoga classes if lucky enough to get them in your class.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many technical and annual fests going on here. Just two months in this college and around 9 to 10 fests have been organised. This college's library has a good collection of books ranging in every journey. Classrooms have smartboards which are nowadays very common everywhere and classrooms are not that advanced even sockets are not there to charge laptops. Facilities at KIIT Campus Multi-Purpose Indoor Hall with 3 Badminton Courts, Multi Gym with 12 Stations, Billiards and Snooker, Table Tennis, Swimming Pool (Indoor) Chess, Carom, Yoga Hall Cricket stadium Hockey ground and many more Sports facilities are there but no one to coach. There are student-run social groups, clubs, or student portals, and seniors are very helpful if you want to join those clubs and even guide you in activities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Almost everything is provided in the hostel you just have to bring your luggage. They provide a mattress, pillow, two pairs of bedsheets, a blanket, a bucket and a lock. Mess food in the starting days was good but after a few days, it became worse. I don't know what they do, the food looks good and smells good but the taste is like stale food Registration process for a hostel is done online but everyone doesn't get it at the time many students were living in different hostels rather than what was allotted. And they were asked to change hostels suddenly.

Admission

Other colleges:

  • Srm, denied due to placement graph going down and good teachers moving to other colleges.
  • Vit, the reason was limited interaction between boys and girls and category fees.
  • Manipal University denied due to high fees even in the hostel and mess, even PG nearby are more expensive than KIIT hostels.

Admission is done through KIITEE (an entrance exam conducted by KiiT University). It is even done through JEE but preference is given to KIITEE and the cutoff varies every year even that mentioned on the internet is wrong. Most preference is given to CSE and its newborn sisters. Overall admission experience was not that good, no information about fees and the hostel is there on the KiiT site.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to student ratio is somewhere around 1:30. Some of them is good just like elder siblings and a few of them always have anger on their noses. BEE faculty is best, they are helpful and always supportive regarding studies. BETC faculty is worse be it class or lab. Exams are easy if you at least focus in class otherwise you can mug up in one night and score good. The number of students failing are less or you can say none, you can cheat in exams easily if you don't cross the limits. Relevance is none especially regarding the theory taught outdated things just mugging it up.

Other Applied Colleges

Manipal University - [MUJ] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

After your 7th semi you will be eligible for campus placements Several reputed companies such as infosys,Wipro etc have visited our campus around my graduation time. The highest package offered was 6 LPA by infosys for the role of Data analyst while the average package stood at around 2.5 LPA to 3.2LPA . From 3rd year itself they make you industry ready through their specific programs llike internships, seminars, etc. Companies like L&T and Accenture are the leading recruiters here. Also there are companies like Amazon or GOOGLE as well. The approx percentage including off and on campus is more than 90%. My plans are basically to explore my entrepreneurship skills.

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
