Course Curriculum Overview
I choose botany honours to study about plants and I am very much satisfied with darrang college. •The faculty members are well experienced •Teachers are able to solve all the doubts. •Laboratories are well equipped. •All the required specimens are available in the department Also the department has a large botanical garden which contains various local and foreign trees, orchids and many more varieties of plants
Fees and Financial Aid
In the BSc program,each semester you have to pay ?7480. So the overall annual fees is around "?15000" However under the state government's fee-waiver scheme, all the students whose annual family income is less than 2lakh, there entire tution fee is paid by the government. So the total college fee becomes ?0
Campus Life
Along with academics, the students are encouraged to take part in other activities also. In defferent times of the year the college organises many cultural programmes and sports activities Every year there is a fresherman social and a departmental freshers party , there is a college week where students perform cultural activities/drama/parade and many more. Along with that debate competition, poetry competition, art competition and many more activities also happen in the college campus Also there are NSS and NCC is also available in the college where students can volunteer and take part in many social activities inside and outside the college
Admission
I have applied to other colleges of guwahati and tezpur. However I choose this college as it was not far from my hometown and this college has a great name, legacy and prestige for which students come from different parts of Assam and from other neighbouring states also
Faculty
In y department, the faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:6 and most of the faculty members are very friendly and approachable. All total there are 2-3 examination in each semester with a very medium level of difficulty. The overall passing rate of students is around 75%
