Entrance Preview
Firstly, we had to apply for respective departments which one wants to take an honours. Then ,cut off percent is taken out and students are given admission to that department as honours student.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our physics course curriculum was quite good , right form electronics to computer programming everything we studied in our three year degree course. Elective subjects were at par with honours equally balanced with other universities.
Internships Opportunities
No, i think this is one of the drawback our university . They don't provide internship .
Placement Experience
I heard many of my seniors getting hired by TCS ( Tata consultancy services ) . So , one can say that yes job placement is there , but not so approachable, it needs to be improved further more.
College Events
We had college week in a year, where various competition and events were being organised by our elected representatives.
Fees and Financial Aid
In our times, there were no such facility . But now, as assam govt. has introduce fee waiver for poor student , so now this is helpful.
Campus Life
In our college , gender balance is one good thing, apart from a good faculty. We participated in various events organised by physics department in gauhati university. Debates where also held on topics related to higgs boson. The only bad fact is the labs , they are not good .
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is also not good ,it looks like a haunted building when viewed from outside. I have not eaten any mess food , so it will not be appropriate to say anything about it.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, our alumnus network is helpful. There is a meeting organised every year for the alumni. Our seniors also helpful in giving us direction and advice on important matters.
Exam Structure
Exams was little chilled out, but there is a serious concern about the lab appparatus . In my college days, our group suffered a lot because of bad , inaccurate apparatus.
Faculty
Our college faculty is extremely talented and down to earth. Our teachers were more like friends to us , we are still in contact with them and they direct us for our future prospects.
