Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course I got enrolled in is Bs in mathematics and computing which is quite a good and secured one . The curriculum mostly focused on the topic which are in high demand and will help us in future semesters and for placements. This course mostly targets on trading , finance , hfts area . Since , it's a bs course , more mathematics is being involved in this course . I think that a little bit more computing can be the part to be focused on in upcoming years . Class test are dependent on the professors themselves. Other than that , There are midsems and endsems in each semester

Internships Opportunities

5

A student is given full opportunity to apply for internships in the college itself . But since being a good college , we don't find any difficulty getting an internship outside the college . The companies include nearly all the companies . The stipend might range between 15000 to 5 lakhs .

Placement Experience

5

As far as I know , students get eligible for placements roughly around semester 5 . Almost all the big companies visits iit kgp campus and no. Of offers made are obviously greater than the number of students . The highest package is around 2.78 crore pa and the average is around 30.53 lpa . The placement percentage would lie roughly between 80-90% . My plan is not fixed yet after getting degree

Fees and Financial Aid

So , the year wise fee I paid is around 3,12,000 inr . The tuition fees is 1,00,000 inr . Caution fee is 12000 inr . Registration fee is 400 inr . Hostel Admission fee is 1000 inr and the other lab fees and compulsory charges are not being briefed to us but I can say that they are quite minimal and affordable. The most common scholarships offered are MCM , inspire and reliance scholarships . Since , I know more about the inspire scholarship. It is given to those who are enrolled in BS course and have their JEE advanced AIR less than 10,000. They are being rewarded 60,000 per year + 20,000 on researchAll the students who have they family annual income greater than 5 lakhs have to pay the same fees as mentioned above . For annual income roughy between 2 lakhs to 5 lakhs , the students have to pay 33% of the total fees and for students having annual income below 2 lakhs or they belong to sc or st category , they are being provided with free tution fees on there whole 4-5 year duration

Campus Life

5

The famous fest held here are shaurya, spring , tech fest . Shaurya fest is held roughy in end October. Spring fest is held in january. Tech fest schedule is not discussed yet . Iit kgp has the Asia largest library is terms of number of books . We don't face any problem regarding library or issuing books . They literally have al the types of books of all the authors . . Classrooms are full air conditioned . Some are big , some small , some circular and ome rectangular. Everyone is offered an extra academic activity for the first 2 years and anyone can enroll in any game they want by paying a 500 inr fee per semester. There are approximately 47 clubs here registered under technology Students Gymkhana. We nearly have all the socs and clubs including cultural, coding , robotics , adventure, counselling etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

The room that freshers or first year undergraduate students get is LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI. All rooms are spacious with triple sharing . The rooms include a bed , chair , table and a cupboard. The meal provided here is decent . But we all get bored by the same repeatition of the meals every week . The quality is like 3/10 . You don't have to do much about the registration process for hostel and affordabilty . It's quite simple and nothing to be worried about .

Admission

So , I had only given jee advance and I got two options in the counselling duration . One was iisc banglore and the other one was iit Kharagpur. Both of them were offering mathematics and computing course. I simply chose iit kgp because I either didn't have interest in the research part at iisc banglore and because i don't wanna miss the iit tag . The admission process is very simple under one platform , i.e josaa . The eligibilty depends on your rank and the course you are searching for . The overall admission procedure is quite simple if you are getting a college from josaa counselling otherwise the formalities of other college might be tedious .

Faculty

3.5

The faculty members are quite good . They have very deep knowledge and expertise of their respective subject . Some of them are helpful too . The faculty to students ratio is 1:20 . We are quite approachable to meet faculty members but it's rare for someone to go to department to meet them . I liked Swarup panda sir and pratima ma'am especially. The best faculty famous here is prof Pawan Kumar who secured 2 times air 2 in jee advanced . Personally , I don't like the ece prof. Here because of the way he explains . There are some class test which may be surprise tests which depends on the respective professors. Other than that , we have midsems and endsems in each semester. Getting a failed student is quite not common but it might have a 0.01 probability. The course structure here is very relevant since from this year onwards , we have our departmental courses from the first year itself .

Course Curriculum Overview:

-> CSE is the main stream because under this, other courses like Cybersecurity can be learned as extra courses, while still learning things that are very important like DSA and DAA. -> Everything is taught slightly fast and students have to keep up everyday. Even one class missed will be heavy on studying. -> The mic quality in some classes are bad and should be improved. It's impossible to understand what the teachers says when using them. -> Usually term exams start one month after the start of a semester, with the Semester exam being held 3 months later.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was relevant for beginners and covered important computer subjects like programming basics, DBMS, networking, and computer fundamentals. It helped in understanding the foundation of IT and software. However, the curriculum needs more practical sessions, coding practice, live projects and industry level skills. Exams were conducted semester wise with internal assessment, and the difficulty level was moderate. Overall the curriculum is good for basics, but it should be updated with more modern topics and practical learning.

The BTech degree from CSE the curriculum plus subjects are good enough for the placements and all also there are good facilities for the programming and dsa related stuffs The curriculum is kind of average not so good , I think it can be taught in many universities also but it's okay They need improvement on more focusing on programming and dsa also AI subjects and topics Timing for exams is fair enough and difficulty level is not so high, I got 8.7 cgpa overall so the exams are so difficult neither so easy

All our professors were very helpful and kind to everyone. They were always one step forward in helping us in every way possible. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. Our course curriculum had data analysis and econometrics, which every company looks for. The topics taught were relevant. Semester exams were not very easy, but our professors prepared us in every way. The pass percentage was approximately 85%. Students were among the top-ranked in the city.
