Remarks

So I applied for all medical Colleges present in chhattisgarh in counseling process. This college was my 4th preference, in counseling I was allotted to this college according to my rank in NEET 2023. My rank was not good enough to get 1st 3 colleges of my preference. So Didn't get there. However GMC Raipur is considered as best medical college in chhattisgarh after AIIMS Raipur, followed by CIMS Bilaspur, and for 3rd some students prefer Rajnandgaon over Jagdalpur because of Distance from home . Personally, I preferred GMC Rajnandgaon over GMC Jagdalpur because Rajnandgaon is closer to my hometown but I couldn't made it to there, and I was alloted Jagdalpur. But, In term of academic Jagdalpur is better than Rajnandgaon so no regret.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Faculty uses ppt in classes , we get exposure to clinical cases frequently as hospital building is in the campus. So, curriculum really help us to face the real life application of knowledge. Difficulty of Exams are somewhere between moderate to high and it prepares us well for University examination.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Our campus itself have a hospital where all the students after final year get an paid internship for 1 year. We get lots of exposure in hospitals about different types of cases in locality. Hospital comprises all departments.

Fees and Financial Aid

Course fee per year is Rs.50000 Scholarship available upto 50000 per year for obc ( if family income is less than 1 lac), for st and sc ( if family income is less than 2.5 lac). In addition exam fee per year 4000.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is overwhelming, we celebrate every festival in campus, on addition we host annual sports week each year. Library has wide range of books to read, and there is area for self study too. In each classroom there is digit setup. There is no social groups or club in college.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is separate girls and boys hostel campus. Each room is allotted for 2 students, with 2 set of table and chair. We have to buy almirah by ourselves. Food in mess in average. And there is no such menu thing. Campus is about 10km far from city so there no rented appartments nearby for girls or present only in city. However, there are some PG rooms for boys with 5 km of range

Faculty

4

Faculty to students ratio is less I must say, but the faculties are helpful amd well qualified. Exam structure :- there are 4 exam per year 1st and 2nd terms, pre university and university exam. On addition test are taken after one unit is completed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspect that influenced me is the externals and clinicals that made by decision to take this course because more than theory is the postings and clinicals which are neccessary to become a good doctor and also helps you to gain confidence. This is not just a curriculum but is a priority academics that prepares a student to save ones life which is far more important than just learning or reading. And yes it prepares us very well through clinicals and postings in addition to theory lectures or exams. As per my view, improvements in posting durations is very important than theory durations due to the priority. And yes teaching methods may get improve if some more fresh cadavers may get introduced in college every year. Exam are held in two phases, 3 terminals and 1 final. 3 terminals are held whole year with 3 to 4 months gap and finals at the end of the semester which is the final exam. Terminals exams are easy and quick whereas finals are tough and time consuming.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you're getting into MBBS, you have cleared neet and you have a slight idea of what you're getting yourself into. The subjects are tough, especially anatomy, because of the vastness of the subject. But if you're consistent and making lil efforts everyday, it's achievable without hampering the fun part of college life. Here are a few gem of resources that everyone uses for first year. Biochemistry - jambhulkar notes, Vasudevan/ satyanarayan book Lippincott for advanced studies Physiology - Sembulingam and Guyton. I swear by them. It doesn't get any simpler than this. Ganong for in depth studies Anatomy - Johari for exams Vishram Singh for easy to understand language and super simple diagrams Gray's anatomy for in depth understanding. Embryology - vishram Singh Histology - IB Singh Dissection - Cunningham or Mercy Navis There will be 2 terminal exams 1 pre University and then the final University. Don't rely on lectures to prepare you for this. You'll have to teach yoursel
