Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The main aspect that influenced me is the externals and clinicals that made by decision to take this course because more than theory is the postings and clinicals which are neccessary to become a good doctor and also helps you to gain confidence. This is not just a curriculum but is a priority academics that prepares a student to save ones life which is far more important than just learning or reading. And yes it prepares us very well through clinicals and postings in addition to theory lectures or exams. As per my view, improvements in posting durations is very important than theory durations due to the priority. And yes teaching methods may get improve if some more fresh cadavers may get introduced in college every year. Exam are held in two phases, 3 terminals and 1 final. 3 terminals are held whole year with 3 to 4 months gap and finals at the end of the semester which is the final exam. Terminals exams are easy and quick whereas finals are tough and time consuming.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The internship is the part of the MBBS course and one gets elegible for internship when he clears his final year exams. One has to do internship from the college from where he passed the final year exams. After the completion of the internship for one year long, a student gets his degree for MBBS and is elegible to get in PG degree and also he/she can now work as junior doctor (JR- junior resident) or can work as medical officer from any hospital.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for my course is spread across the years and includes various components: Yearly fees: 1. 1st year: • Admission fees: 25000 rupees • Bus fare: 6000 rupees • Mess fee: 30000 rupees • Security fee: 5000 (one time only, refundable) 2. 2nd year: • Admission fees: 12000 rupees • Bus fare: 6000 rupees • Mess fee: 30000 rupees 3. 3rd year: • Admission fees: 6500 rupees • Bus fare: 6000 rupees • Mess fee: 30000 rupees 4. Final year: • Admission fees: 3500 rupees • Bus fare: 6000 rupees • Mess fee: 30000 rupees So, total fees for the whole course of 4 years of mbbs is 2 lakh rupees. The course fee is same for every category where sc, st or general There is no scholarship programs or aids provided by the college, but the scholarship which is provided is by through the National scholarship per year of almost 30k to 70k rupees and is available for all student depending on merit cum means, courses, and per year income criteria.

Campus Life

2.5

There are some technical festivals or tours held every year. Like pulse through which students are taken on a tour to AIIMS colleges where some functions are held in which some celebrities or singers are involved in. Another is All India Tour (AIT) through which students get an opportunity travel in india in different states for 1 month long tour. These 2 are the main tours which are held by our college. And also 1 freshers is held every year to welcome a new batch and celebrate. The books are limited to medical literature and no journals or other books of other courses are available. Classrooms are powered by projectors and digital learning which ease the learning process. No such sports and extra curriculum activities are held in our college and is tge biggest drawback so far. No such social groups or clubs are run by any of the students if any batch.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel rooms are very impressive. Each room is issued with 2 wardrobe, 2 tables and chairs, 2 beds and mattresses for 2 students as each room is issued for 2 students. Mess quality is very poor and aslo menu is very unsatisfied for a student. Only veg is allowed and non-veg is not allowed. Every meal is unbalanced diet and is unhygienic. Registration process is simple as one has to fill a form to apply for hostel with basic details. But the mess charges are very high as compared to the food they serve. I can say it is more expensive than if a student cooks himself. 2700 rupees for a month, with veg only.

Admission

I never applied for any other college because my motive was only to get the medical college. I choosed medical college because of my interest and job security. The admission process is easy and quick in only 1 to 2 hours There is only one elegibility to get the medical college which is to get the seat for the MBBS after taking the national level exam for MBBS, which is NEET. Cutt-off for every year changes and it increaes by 5 to 10 points. Cutt of depends on exam paper level and the number of students which have taken this exam (NEET). To get the medical college for MBBS in india there is only 1 exam which is called NEET. Overall admission process is not so thrilling or interesting. Just you have to submit authentication documents and pay fee.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is 1:35. The faculy to student relationship is very good. The faculty are very helpful in all aspects whether in studies or in other activities. As per my view i liked the Microbiology department faculty very much as this department faculty clearly understands the students problem and help them to cope up with the issues that arise. The micro faculty is the one i like the most and is the best faculty. I like every faculties as all of them are so sincere and straight to students success, but i have some issues with the pathology faculty because they sometimes dont show support by not compensating our losses in attendance or in internal assessments. In each sessional year there are total 4 exams, 3 are held through college ( Easy) and 1 is the main exam held through university (Hard). Overall 75% students pass their exams with good grades. Course curriculum is ofcourse relevant and to the point with main focus on externals and clinicals.

The curriculum here is very practical based which includes dissection on cadavers, bone demonstration, hematology practicals, postings, biochem practicals etc. As the curriculum is very practical it prepares you well for the real world applications. Areas of improvement can be reduced written work and assignments. We have exams every 2-3 months which can be passes easily if you are consistent in your studies

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you're getting into MBBS, you have cleared neet and you have a slight idea of what you're getting yourself into. The subjects are tough, especially anatomy, because of the vastness of the subject. But if you're consistent and making lil efforts everyday, it's achievable without hampering the fun part of college life. Here are a few gem of resources that everyone uses for first year. Biochemistry - jambhulkar notes, Vasudevan/ satyanarayan book Lippincott for advanced studies Physiology - Sembulingam and Guyton. I swear by them. It doesn't get any simpler than this. Ganong for in depth studies Anatomy - Johari for exams Vishram Singh for easy to understand language and super simple diagrams Gray's anatomy for in depth understanding. Embryology - vishram Singh Histology - IB Singh Dissection - Cunningham or Mercy Navis There will be 2 terminal exams 1 pre University and then the final University. Don't rely on lectures to prepare you for this. You'll have to teach yoursel

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as it was my parents dream and during childhood my paediatrician also inspired me to become a DR. This college has good faculties. In a subject department there is 1 HOD( head of department), 1 assistant professor,1associate professor, 2-3 demonstrator and many management workers. They are very helpful. Also there are 60 students so it is very helpful for students to understand what professor says. There is good communication between students and professors overall I would say a good bonding is there. All faculties MBBS graduated though some have done PHD also but they have good teaching experiences to make a student understand everything. There are 2 internal exams which are average to pass and one University exam in which you have to pass to go to next year. You have to give a supplementary exam if you fail the University exam or the final exam.
