My college experience

Basically the curriculum of this course is not hectic which can help me to give time to other activities and also I can do coding more and more. The curriculum is also good It helps us to understand the earth and it's components completely .it prepares us to become an scientist or an oil refinery engineer or satellite signal controller and all of these fields are very good financially. Yes the course is good but some changes can be made. The frequency if exams us low as there are only two exams in one sem but the difficulty level is one high side.

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) offers a number of internship programs, including a summer internship program and a GET_INvolved program: Summer internship program The SPARK program is a summer internship program that offers a weekly stipend to students. The program is designed to attract top undergraduate students from India and abroad to participate in research-oriented internships. Students can apply for multiple projects. Eligibility: Students who have completed at least two semesters of an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline are eligible to apply. Students from IITs or ISCs must have a CGPA of at least 7.5, while students from NITs, IIESTs, or other institutions must have a CGPA of at least 8 or 8.5, respectively. IIT Roorkee Summer Internship: Candidates can apply for multiple projects. Selected candidates will get a weekly stipend of Rs 2,500

The placements of college are decent . The students become eligible for placements in their 7th semester. IIT Roorkee Placements 2024 (Phase 1) has been concluded. According to the media reports, IIT Roorkee students got 802 job offers from 172 companies. During 2024 placements, students achieved 23 international offers and a US Software company named Databricks offered an annual CTC of INR 2.05 Crores. Median package: The median package for BTech and MTech placements was INR 19.69 LPA and INR 12 LPA, respectively 85%of the students got placed . After getting my degree I will do a software engineering job for few years after that I will start my own project/business

The fees is not increased from the past year and yearly fees is about 250,000 rupees . The fees structure is follows as: *For general: Tution fees-100000rupees/sem Registration fee- 35000rupees Other charges -5000rupees/sem Mess charges- 40000/sem Hostel charges -10000/ sem *For sc/St: Tution fees-0 Registration fee- 17500rupees Other charges - same as general Mess charges -same as general Hostel charges- same as general Scholarships are for economically backward classes. Like full tution waiver .

The campus life is very fascinating as you can go out of the college and hostels anytime and come back anytime .and inside the campus the Greenery is so heart felting along with the infrastructure. The vibes we get inside the campus are very enjoyable.We can interact with all batchmates along with our seniors .and a lot of clubs of every interest are there for us we can join a club by giving an interview.the campus infrastructure is very fascinating. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee hosts many annual festivals, including: Thomso: The annual cultural festival that takes place at the end of October and beginning of November. Cognizance: The annual technical festival that's considered one of the largest of its kind in the Indian subcontinent. SANGRAM: The annual inter-B-school sports meet. Almost all the books and journals are available in the college library. The classrooms are fully sir conditioned.and also have smart projectors and wifi.

The rooms are single occupancy,double occupancy and triple occupancy.each room have wifi connection and for every student there a almirah,study table and chair, and a bed is provided .3 times a day we get meals in the mess one in morning,one in afternoon and one in night . The quality of food is quite decent .but lack in taste.and the menu is very good everyday we get some fruits ,salads or sweets with the meals. The registration of mess and hostels takes place within registration of students during physical reporting the mess is quite affordable. There are no day scholars are allowed in IIT roorke that's why we have live the hostels provides to us.

I choose this college because first according to my rank I fallen into this college .As It's also an IIT so I didn't think too much and also closest IIT to my home after IIT delhi.i wanted to go to IIT Delhi but unfortunately due to my rank I didn't get admission there . The admission process is as follows: 1. Fill preferences in josa counseling. 2.seat allotment. 3.online registration. 4. Physical reporting along with admission.

The faculty to student ratio is the maximum among all the IIT 's .the faculties are very friendly they helps students in solving doubts. The faculty of physics named santanu pradhan is very good he explains everything from basic to top. I like all of the faculties as everyone has its own pros. In first year the students have almosts all subjects common except one subject. There are two exams in one sem - midsem and endsem.the exams are difficult as it's IIT but very few got failed .the exams are totally relevant to the course curriculum.
