Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The college is affiliated to KTU and hence all the syllabus is the same for all government colleges and most private colleges. The syllabus I have is quite outdated and do not include much practical knowledge or technical skill development areas. University examination papers are quite easy for CET students since all students are brilliant minded and the questions would be pnly moderately difficult or easy.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are not many internship opportunities available in the campus. Also till now the college only provides 2 months for students each year for intership with full attendance. This would be difficult for those students who wish to attend internship in top companies. Many students go for internships during their sem breaks and holidays and receive good stipends.

Placement Experience

3

The campus placements begins from the sixth semester onwards. Many reputed companies of national and international origin come for placements. This include Microsoft, Infosys, Technopark, Schneighder , Tesla , etc and provide good salary packages ranging from 6,00,000 to 50,00,000 lpa. Most students with no supplymentary exams during their course get placed in any one of the companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first year of my college, I have paid a total tuition fees of rs9650 directly to the Commission of Entrance Examination CEE, Kerala.Alongside on the day of my admission, I paid rs2000 as bus fare(even though I am a hosteller),rs6000 as hostel development fund and rs1000 as Cetaa development fund.During my second year, my fee structure tells me to pay a total of rs13660 for the total year which includes tuition fees, university examination fees and special fees. This amount would be most probably the same for the coming academic years too.Since I do not currently have any scholarship or special considerations, I am paying the full amount to the college . Most of the students having an annual income less than 1,00,000 have the Egrantz scholarship which covers their tuition fees and hostel expenses. Many other private and government scholarships like MCM, FFE, Reliance, etc are available among which the private ones grands almost 50,000-70,000 for students every year

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life is very good and lively. Many technical and non technical clubs are present inside the campus. Some of them include AstroCet, RoboCet, Herakles Racing club , etc. They have conducted many workshops and competitions and can greatly help students improve their technical and non technical skills. They also participate in national and international competitions and have won numerous awards till date. Also social clubs for dance, music , literature, etc is present in the campus which is quite fun. There are libraries in each department and also the college has a central library with almot 1,50,000 books. All classrooms are smart classrooms and most teachers take lessons with slide shows. There are numerous events conducted annually in the college which include technical and non technical events. The main events are Dhwani and Dhrishti which is popular in South India.

Hostel Facilities

3

The college has its own hostel for boys and girls which select students who are far away and having less annual income. This hostels are very affordable since only 3,000-3,500 is charged every month for the mess facilities, water, electricity and room rent. The rooms are clean enough but the corridors and toilets may not be always clean. The food provided is comparatively good to other government hostels with a decent menu. There are also many other affordable hostels and PG nearby the college.

Admission

I had applied to other colleges only to get admitted for Computer Science or ectronics and communication. This included government Engineering College Thrissur and Model Engineering College Kochi. But when I was allotted to Btech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at CET, I thought it would be the best option since the college is very much reputed for its placements and other facilities available. I had and All India rank of 2085 for KEAM examination and was allotted this course in my third round of allotment. KEAM is the exam for admission in CET.It is a paper including physics, chemistry and maths . The paper would be of moderate difficulty for the students who have taken a year drop or have prepared for JEE exams.

Faculty

2.5

There are considerable number of faculties present in the campus. Some among them are quite approachable and good but others are very arrogant and rude. Many teachers though well educated and experienced lack good teaching skills and communication with students. Most of the teachers take classes through power point presentations and just read through what is written in the presentation. Thus students cannot learn just from the classes alone and will have to refer youtube channels for good understanding of the subjects. There are two internal exams conducted for every semester and the paper difficulty varies each time, sometimes it could be very easy while other times it could be very difficult. Many students score well in the exams and some others poorly score but mostly all of them would cover up for the university examinations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
