Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum is according to the industry standards. After comparing it with other colleges including IIT's the course is almost similar. Those subjects which have labs like c, java , dbms, computer networks they provide good knowledge on how to perform it practically and overall it is useful for placements

Internships Opportunities

2.5

College provides internship to students from 7th semester. Although it can be difficult to grab a times because the cutoff goes pretty high at times. There is a company in college which provides internship to students and many students get internships over there. I have seen many students getting internships on their own.

Placement Experience

3.5

Most of the students get placed from college itself. Avg package for cs is around 8.5 lpa. You are eligible for intersihips from 6th semester where college will provide a few offers from there side if you have good scores otherwise you'll have to search on your own. And companies start coming from the 7th semester for placement. I plan to do MBA after BTech.

Fees and Financial Aid

Per year Tution fees is 350000. And at the time of admission you are asked to pay 75000 which includes laptop and books. Yes, Tution fees is increasing each year but the hostel fees remains the same. Wherein for 3 bed non ac room costs 28000 and mess fees is 22500 for each semester.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is very good. Infrastructure wise also it is world class. KIIT has very good sports facilities as well. Many Olympians come for practice over here. It has many student run societies in multiple fields as well as NCC and NSS.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I have opted for 3 bed non ac room for which I have to pay 28000 per semester. My hostel is in a very good location. Menu quality wise is overall decent and you good food comparing it on the basis of mess standards. Facilities in hostel is very good. Wardens are there at all times and they are very friendly. And if there is some kind of repair work in room or hostel they repair it within 1-3 days of complaint.

Admission

The biggest reason why I chose this college was because it was not very far from my home. I had also passed exams of VIT and SRM but I didn't want to go to SRM because of its bad reviews. The reason why I didn't join VIT is because of bad hostel conditions of there and strict environment. I also gave bitsat and I got mechanical in Hyderabad campus but I wanted to go to CS only so I joined KIIT.

Faculty

4

Overall faculty is very good and friendly with the students. In case of cs many teachers are very young and recent pass outs but they have good knowledge about the subjects and help in every way possible. I won't name the faculties whom I liked or disliked but overall the teachers try there best to teach and makes sure that everyone understands what is being taught. Here 2 exams are conducted in each semester which has a mid sem of 20 marks and end sem of 50 marks. Rest 30 marks are allowed by the teacher which includes class tests or quiz and vivas. Difficulty wise exams are normal. What is taught in class is a only asked in exams and we have good access to pyqs as well. Some subjects can be difficult but otherwise if you study daily for 1.5-2 hrs you'll be well and good otherwise if you can study 15 days before exams also you'll do good in exams.

Other Applied Colleges

After your 7th semi you will be eligible for campus placements Several reputed companies such as infosys,Wipro etc have visited our campus around my graduation time. The highest package offered was 6 LPA by infosys for the role of Data analyst while the average package stood at around 2.5 LPA to 3.2LPA . Approximately 60% or 6.5 CGPA secured students will be eligible for placements through campus drives. After obtaining my degree, I plan to Pursue higher studies like Mtech in a IIT'S or Niit hence i prepared for Gate 2 yrs .But meanwhile i was preparing for to get a job to take the responsibility of family so i started my carrer a a software developer.

The course is relevant enough to teach you all the basics you would require in engineering though some of the courses can be changed and in place of those new courses can be addded for example for non physics student teaching them quantum mechanincs and that too the old quantum mechanics doesent seem to make sense . The exams are not so frequent and the papers can be rated as moderate

Also there are companies like Amazon or GOOGLE as well. The approx percentage including off and on campus is more than 90%. My plans are basically to explore my entrepreneurship skills.

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
