Remarks

Jai hind definitely has one of the best faculty and good management. The crowd is good and the location is amazing. Since it is so close to the Churchgate station, traveling becomes easy for people who travel by train. The canteen is good and the food is decently priced there. Overall my 3 years of experience in Jai hind is very good.

Merit List

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is quite rigorous and requires hard work, dedication and time. You will have to spend a lot of time in classrooms as well as practical labs. The exam structure is similar to what Mumbai university recommends. Semester pattern.

Placement Experience

4

Sadly, for the science stream, there is no placement cell or job opportunities as such. But for other departments like BAF, BMM, Bcom there are a lot of companies visiting our college every year. And some of them offer packages that are very good considering what other colleges offer and competition in the market.

College Events

5

Jai hind is known for organizing a lot many events every year. Big events like JAF, Shout, Entourage, Kani, etc happen every year where a lot of students participate. Along with that a lot of new, small budget fests are organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very much affordable in Jai hind college for most courses. Courses such as BSC is very inexpensive for all departments. The fees range between 5k- 15k for Bsc. For other courses, it can go slightly higher up to 30K a year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year students from almost every section receive scholarships for their outstanding performance in their respective fields. Scholarship based on both categories as well as for being class topper is provided to students.

Campus Life

4.5

Jai hind colleges have labs that are spacious and have all the necessary types of equipment. Be it physics, chemistry or computer science. All labs are well maintained for the students. For sports, there is a gymkhana where students play indoor sports like chess, carrom, table tennis, etc. The gymkhana is fairly spacious and well equipped.

Alumni/Alumna

Since I am from a science background and we don't have a placement cell as such. I am not aware of the alumni network. But from what I have heard, they are really helpful for students of other departments such as BA, BCom, Bmm and BAF.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is much better than what most colleges have. Helpful and approachable. Especially the chemistry and maths department. The physics department is a bit tough may be because the subject itself is tough.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Microbiology is mainly lab based work but it also teaches you other worldly things , the reason behind me choosing Bsc microbiology to do from ruia is because , once i had a talk to an alumni of ruia in which she mentioned that microbiology from ruia is basucally equal of engineering from an IIT. In microbiology particularly i would say the difficulty level is a bit high but only if you don't pay attention to daily lecs and practicals
