Remarks

One of the best years of my life where spend here. The only drawback I could think of is the lack of space, the college is situated in just 5 acres of land which is small but considering it's inside the city, along the highway and so close to the railway station kind of makes it okay.

Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The Course Curriculum is prepared by the University the college is affiliated to, currently all engineering colleges in Kerala are affiliated to KTU ( Kerala technical University) prior to its formation the college was a part of the University of Kerala. The curriculum is prepared by the University in which the faculty of the college does play a huge part as the faculty is well experienced and highly regarded.

Internships Opportunities

No, the College doesn't have any internships, most colleges in the state don't have the system of internships in the final semester, the universities prefer a final year project instead of an internship to assess the students in real world application of things they learned

Placement Experience

5

The placements and job opportunities are colleges is very good and is looked after by a special cell called the CGPU ( career guidance and placement unit) it makes you ready for the placement drives with really good coaching for placement tests and conducts seminars on improving oneself to be industry ready. The CGPU has well developed communications with recruiters, companies, and HRs. Many companies like TCS, Infosys, Tata Elxi, Amazon, Quest Global, Suntech, Oracle, Envestnet, etc come to campus drives along with many others. Annual job fairs are also conducted and many companies and students from many colleges participate in the same improving connections.

College Events

5

1. Cult a Way is the intercollege fest conducted by SCT.. one of the best and most popular events in Trivandrum, known for its unique blend of activities and events with Pro shows, Spanning 3 to 5 days 2.The annual art and literary competition spanning 2-3 days with all sorts of different competitions 3.Annual sports meet 4. Magazine launch 5. Onam celebration which is a blast 6. Christmas celebration 7. Various club events

Fee Structure And Facilities

4 types for seats Merit- 35000 per annum Management- 65000per Annum KSRTC quota- 65000per Annum NRI quota- 100000 per Annum The fee is feasible and well worth it, additional fees may add to an extra 3000

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are given to economically backward students under schemes of the govt and the university which can sometimes lead to a complete waiver of fees, the college along with PTA also gives financial assistance to those in need.

Campus Life

3.5

Many extracurricular activities and competitions make college life so fun and interesting, inter college fests, workshops in different fields, etc are really interesting. The college has been included in the World bank's funding and the labs, equipment, and library are very sophisticated and well maintained with good machines and well educated faculty to help us work on it.

Hostel Facilities

3

The college doesn't provide any hostel facilities due to lack of space as it inside the city and by the old NH-66 highway, but it has tie-up with locals hostels that arranges rooms for both boys and girls, many locals have taken the advantage of the college not having a hostel and have rented their homes off to students hence finding a neat place won't be much of an issue

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors were always mentors and the path they showed us made our college fun, they had put in front of us a big name to uphold in all fields including academics, fests, extracurricular activities, etc. The alumni network is strong and connected helping us with placements to companies they work in, alumni funds have build infrastructure for the college and so on

Exam Structure

The exams conducted by the University of Kerala had two parts, part A with 5qns (2marks) and part b with 4 qns(20marks). The university exam total to 100marks and the internal assessment mark is 50. hence a student can get a total maximum of 150 marks. Each subject is split into 4 modules and each 20mark qn is from each module. Internal assessment is based on attendance, class assignments and class tests.

Admission

The admission to the college is through the state entrance examinations, a candidate is required to secure a good rank in the exam to stand a chance to get into this college, the college offers types of admission, merit which is the lowest fee seats given to students with good ranks in the entrance exam, management seats for students with moderate ranks in entrance exam, the admission process for both these seats is same and according to the Kerala entrance procedures, 10% of seats are reserved for NRI category where students who haven't written the exam directly apply in the college and selection is based on board exam marks. Another 10% seat is reserved for wards of KSRTC employees who also directly apply at the college.

Faculty

4.5

Well experienced highly educated faculty runs the college in maximum efficiency, most professors have their PhDs or are currently doing their Ph.D. They are friendly and a good student faculty relationship exists on the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
