Psychology is a very interesting subject and career-making in Psychology is very difficult if you don't love that subject. Psychology in du colleges was very difficult to get due to the higher cut off but ignou gave me a chance to study what i love. Psychology at ignou is a good deal and ignou prepares you for the real world by its very practical study material and practical classes. Interships and researches also help us to know the world according to Psychology career-making. Psychology hons at ignou is annual exam based course. You can give re exam after every 6 month for improvement or for passing it after being failed.

Admission

I applied for beled course from du but due to less seats i ended up having ba programme at du spmc. I wanted to study something i liked, after beled, my 2nd priority was psychology hons so i went to ignou for my distance studies as i am managing 2 degrees at 1 time. Ignou has very less criteria for marks for admission, 35 percent marks are okay to have if you want to get into ignou. Just fill the form and get enrolled after paying the fees. There are many many many courses offered by ignou so many people pursue their degrees from here as they do it with jobs or some other commitments

Faculty

5

A class of 40 students has around 6 educators for different subjects including core and elective subjects. Exams are pretty normal as you can score good if you study by study materials provided and previous year papers. Harshita mam from jesus and mary college ignou study centre is such an angel. Vikrant sir from ramanujan college is very supportive and well spoken and humble. They both are from psychology department

My Economics syllabus and the professor is amazing. They explain everything in detail and they are really very open to criticism as well The exam level is actually medium. Since, our professors prepare us in attempting them easily. Practice sessions are worth devoting time in.

Placement Experience:

I would say the placement opportunities are more available for science , commerce background students in the college there are rarely any placement opportunities for humanities background students . Mostly students starts engaging in placement in the fifth semester .severky companies visited campus every year including Deloitte , EY.TCS etc . Around 40 - 50 percent students from professional courses get the placement annually .even for the students not opting for placement the exposure n the strong alumni network of college help them secure good opportunities outside campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum for my course, economics hons. , I would say is very relevant to our day to day life. The curriculum set by the university doesn't focus only on indian economics but economies through out the world. The suggested books are also the top books used in many international top universities. The curriculum provides us with a lot of real world applications through various case studies. For exams the delhi university guidlines are followed and I would say now the exams are based on more of practical usage and how materials taught in class are applied in real life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum overall as 7/10 for relevance, and 6.5/10 for comprehensiveness. The curriculum included practical / lab / workshop components, which promised hands?on experience. That was a big factor for me. I felt that I wouldn’t just learn theory, but also get to apply it. It offered some electives or optional subjects, so there is some flexibility to explore interests outside the core. The syllabus was fairly up?to?date in many subjects: courses include contemporary topics (to some extent) and recent tools or methods. It also seemed designed to allow further academic pursuit: good coverage of fundamentals makes it possible to do postgraduate work.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really average in our college. Students become eligible mostly from 3 rd year only but there are also placement opportunity for 1st and 2nd year as well but less than 3rd years. Hike edu, Kpmg they visited this year only. Kpmg came to hire only bcom and bcom h students. The highest average package offered till now is 600000. 10% students get the placement I think it's not about the college because they can only bring the companies the interview and gd round is upto the students they have to clear it by themselves. I want to work in banking sector I will be trying to clear banking exams.

Like any other course this course too has its pros and cons. It is very different from the fictional or non-fictional books you read. One must have an interest for English language as it has no grammar. It's just the language portion that will be taught.
