Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course is well structured and some modern technologies are being taught, the curriculum is comprehensive and relatively easy to understand if taught well. I took this course because of my interest in semiconductors, and the contents of this course are relevant to real word issues. Exams occur thrice a semester, only few subjects can get a little intensive, rest are simple

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship opportunities start coming in from second year itself, usually start ups offer internships, with stipend of 10000+ Tasks are usually base level, and do not require much of prior technical knowledge or skill

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement stats are pretty good, offers above 50LPA have also been granted to students, but they are not as common. With a good cgpa, 5+ LPA can be ensured. Students from 6th sem become eligible for placements, companies such as TI, Apple, Daimler Trucks etc have come for placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Around 2,00,000INR fees per annum for COMEDK students, fees is constant for 4 years, there are a lot of miscellaneous fees excluding this such as lab fees etc. There are scholarships that are government aided and for people with reservations

Campus Life

4.5

Clubs are probably the best part of the college, there's something to cater to everyone's interest. There are motorsport clubs, debate, fashion, literature, magazine, filmmaking and many more active clubs. Sports is also a big part as there's a large student community involved in sports. Only necessary utilities are provided by the college, most of the clubs are student run. There are 4 libraries with an ample collecton of books and repositories

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are available within and outside the campus, good hostel, neat and clean, decent food, hot water in the morning and night, registration for hostel can be done by visiting the hostel and speaking to the manager, hostel fees is slightly expensive but worth it considering the convenience. Curfew for girls is 9pm Attached bathrooms provided

Admission

This was the college of my choice as it was comparatively closer to my home, and other alumni from this college had informed me about its merits. I also chose this college because of its placement stats and especially its extracurriculars. There's many good clubs. I did not get rejected from any college and got accepted by all of them, but chose this one because it suited my needs. Admission process is through exams like COMEDK and KCET, cutoffs are ranks below 9k, and admission process was smooth and convenient.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty members teach well and are usually understanding. PDFs are provided of all the subject modules for students to study from. Three exams are conducted semester wise - 2 internals and one final exam. Marking scheme is on 100, internals for 50 and finals for 50

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.
