Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum covers all branch courses in first year. Every student has to have the basics of EE, Mech, Chem, Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Your branch doesnt decide your placement and you can go to any stream you have interest in and find your carrer in that path. You can also take minor degrees and have 2 or more degrees for example: EE and CSE minor, Mech and CSE minor etc. You are also allowed to change your course in first year. The curriculum and courses are kind of overloaded though so its stressful. But all this, allows you to learn better skills and have an edge in interviews and placements.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships are provided from top tech and quant companies like Microsoft, Jane street, Amazon, Facebook, and many others. The OCS (Office of Career Services) handles all the placements and your resume, so all you need to worry about are your interviews and skills. Learn more, achieve more. Stipend depends on company and work you are doing and has a very wide range.

Placement Experience

4

People are eligible for placements in internships after 2nd year. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Air India, and some quant companies like Jane street too come here to offer internships. Around 80 to 85 percent get placed every year, minimum package being around 7 to 8 lakhs usually Last year 87 placements of 1 Cr and above were made (both external and internal combined)

Fees and Financial Aid

Hostel mess = 70000 per yr Hostel Seat rent = 15000 per yr Tuition fees = 240000 per year For OBC/Gen/Others : Salary above 5 lakh annum = Full tuition fees Salary between 1 to 5 lakh per annum = 50% of tuition fees Salary below 1 lpa = 25% tuition fee For SC /ST/PwD 25% of the tuition fees SBI IITD provides a 0% interest loan till you graduate and an interest of 7% after your graduating term is finished. This loan can be for your laptop and fees or any of your legible needs. Other banks may provide a low interest loans too. Due to the 0% interest loan, I d say its really affordable for anyone. But, hostel fees are high.

Campus Life

4.5

2 tech festivals and one main festival are held in iIT Delhi The main festival, Rendezvous is the largest fest of North India and attrached over 1.5 lakh people. It has many events, anything you can think of and pronites call bug singers like Diljit and Alan Walker for performances. Its a really huge fest. For freshers, speranza and BRCA nights are arranged by all the clubs which entertain the freshers woth competitions and shows. They also call a stand up comedian for these. Clubs present here are more than 50, including Dance, Fashion, Music, Robotics, Coding, Economics, Design, and many more. The facilities here and skills provided by these are really helpful. Here, sports plays a huge role. General championships are here for both freshers and overall and it has a huge impact in hostel points. More than 40 sport events are held including atheletics, hockey, cricket, any ball games you can think off (except baseball), and many others.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Meal quality is better than other college hostels. Infrastructure is not good in old hostels. The ceiling gets soaked during rains and the paint may fall off. The 8 ball pool table and table tennis facilities are present but not in good condition. The room are very small and conjusted due to the small size and huge strength. The college grades down due to the hostel maintainence.

Admission

IIT Delhi is second most renowned colleges for Engineering in India. Its placements and entrepreneurship oppurtunities are comparable to that of IIT Bombay. Admission here requires: Having a boards percentage of 75+ Qualifying in jEE Mains Clearing the cutoff and obtaining a rank required for the particular branch you are interested in (Changes every year and depends on others interests, cutoff ranks for IIT Delhi is really low) For CSE, the rank for Gen category is around 110 this year.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty are very experienced and supportive. They help you with any proper doubts you have or any help you need in the course, as long as they sense efforts from your side. Seniors also help you and guide you really well, mentors are also alloted for every student to help them through their first 2 years. Exams are tough and courses are stressful but the grading is relative so just put more effort that others and you ll be fine. Try to be regular to classes and revise them immediately and dont clog up the syllabus. I'd give academic facilities and faculty a solid, but considering other perspectives like stressful courses and very tough exams, degrade one point.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
