The freedom and independence we had, beit in dressing or curfews or attending classes

Course Curriculum Overview

I was passionate about computer science and hardware, so ECE was the best deal with a mix of electrical, CS and IT papers with lots of coding (both python and simulation softwares like Matlab and Ansys). The semester exams are approximately every 6 months and easily scorable even if prepared at the last minute.

Class Size: 65Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Placement Experience

Students from their pre final year are eligible for placements. Core companies like Visteon and BEL had come, with most companies having software, banking, edutech and marketing background. Around 3.4 to 6LPA packages, and in some cases eve more. Around 60 percent of students in my class including me got placed. My plan is to go for an MTech.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it's a government college under the State of Kerala, the fees is around 5000 to 7000 dependingon if it is odd or even semester, then around 2000 for exam registration every semester. Grants and scholarships are available for financially under categories, like egrantz.

Campus Life

There are several technical fests as a part of societies like IEEE, CSI, ASME and ISTE. Inspire is an initiative by the mechanical dept which aims to make a few days of he differently abled and underprivileged kids a bit better. Flash mobs by the dance club all over the city, and events of arts and film clubs are also present. NSS is really active. Several intra college and inter college fests and competitions are also there every year. Library is accessible and has several reference books across all domains.

Admission

I did not apply to any other colleges since this was one of the top govt colleges in Kerala for ECE, and more accessible (being in the heart of the city). KEAM score is required for admission, and in my year, around 1500 rank made it after the final allotments (excluding the spot allotments). Remaining procedures are same as all colleges affiliated to KTU.

Faculty

The faculty are highly approachable and will help you if you reach out to them, be it academically or in informing opportunities or research/projects under their guidance. Per semester, there will be around 4 to 5 core subjects, 2 labs and 2 non technical papers. The semester exams are easy to moderate and scorable if prepared properly even at the last minute with diligence.

Placement Experience:

Placements cells are supportive in terms of networking with different companies and are readily active for the students competing in getting internships and placements. The college has a tie up with different companies like Infosys , Wipro , Deloitte , IBM , NVIDIA , Deshaw Private Limited etc. Students become eligible from semester 5 onwards for on campus placements. The offers made by these companies are 8 LPA to 9 LPA by deloitte , innfosys , and IBM but the highest package is being offered by Deshaw and NVIDIA that is 60 LPA and 47 LPA. The average package is around 11 LPA and the percentage of students getting placed are above 80%. My plan after getting the degree is to work for an IT Company to get the hands on knowledge about what the current technologies demand and get experienced in that and work further upon it.

From the semester 7 onwards the placement interview will begin.The company's like Infosys,Sutherland etc.But if we are doing externally that is also good.I'm planning on improving my skills first and then going abroad. The average package available would be 4 lakh per annum.

Experience as a first year student at NIT calicut

Placement Experience:

Here we recieve a really high number of offers this year it was around 970, The highest package received this year was 44.42 lpa and average was around 12 lpa Accenture, Bharat electronics limited are few of the top hirers, intel and nvidia also hire from here they are more relevant for ece students The percentage of students getting placed is 81% I will most probably try for a direct placement, I'm not thinking about higher studies(MTECH)after UG but that might change in the future

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. G.E.C. PALAMU : A. Brief Overview .

Actually I applied in Chandigarh University , KIIT , SRM, and Quantum University . I even. Done the formalities of Quantum University but when the result of JCECEB COUNSELING came I took decision to take admission in this college as for now I think my decision is good . This college first of all government aided which provides a way better option than other private colleges which I opted for . Also this college might not compare with the other private colleges which I mentioned in so called renowned facilities but still we can get all basic facilities here . And all the above the fees here is very much affordable as compared to all the colleges which I mentioned in my list . Means all your engineering course will be completed in about 5 lakhs . which is very much less as compared to even NIT and IIT.
