Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is pretty good. There are a mix of credited and non credited subjects to not only improve our knowledge but also our basic ethics and knowledge of the outside world. subjects such as sustainable engineering which is non credited and part of our course, teaches us about our environment and how we are destroying it and how we can prevent its further damage. they dont cramp all subjects in 1 sem being autonomous they decide their own timing for exams so the 2 series are spread across the span of 3 months each series has 2:5 of the topics we learn each subject Teaching methods could be improved. its offline classes always. But it could be better if they introduced hybrid classes for students unable to make it to class, maybe due to personal reasons. Hybrid classes would help them also learn while being at home getting rest if they are sick, in pain, etc.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many internships are available from our college. It is usually done during the end of 2nd year Many renowned companies call for internship from college. Here in amaljyothi, the compulsory internships after 2nd year is done in Bangalore and Ernakulam Students can decide where they want to go and attend Other internships during the college days are also provided by the college

Placement Experience

2.5

There are campusnplacements happening in college every year It is for 3rd year students It is usually done by the end of semester 6(3rd year) Placement from our college is recieved for almost, 100% of students but campus placements are achieved by many but not by all. Highest package is almost 8LPA And lowest can go around 1-2LP

Fees and Financial Aid

My college fee is around 1LPA, and i wont say its expensive but it isnt cheap either. For an middle class family, its affordable but for families not available financially, they will find it difficult to pay the fees. But on special consideration the college and the community does provide hostel and college fee reduction(they provide scholarships or aids for families in need) which can reduce the fee upto 30000-50000PA

Campus Life

4

College timings are a little hectic making social life during college days a little difficult. College timing is from 8:45 to almost 4:30 to 5:00 according to the teacher who takes the last period. There are lots of clubs in college, from our own radio club to photography, sports, music, etc. This college gives a lot of importance to extracurricular activities and sports, especially basketball. There are 2 basketball in the campus; and 1 each in the boys and girls hostel. There is also a ground for students to play cricket and football and other sports such as volleyball, and there is an indoor badminton court which at times gets a little too cramped up There are also other facilities, such as a good gym(which is gettint renovated as im typing this) and a gym coach who is a world record holder. Classes are usually taught using the chalkboard or by showing the notes made by the teacher. but now, the college is installing smartboards in class for easier and better learning for students

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel for boys is pretty ok. There is an annoying alarm which rings for each timing, such as breakfast lunch and dinner and during the start of the day and when our study time starts My room is attached bathroom with 2 othwe roomates, and it costs almost 30000 per annum. But for common rooms its much more less lesser than 20000 per annum. Hostel also provides A/C rooms for students in need all rooms provided are:3 bedroom,4,3,2 and 1 bedroom with attached bathroom and AC rooms according to our choice. the meals now are pretty good. considering the new batch just arrived. the food during odd sems(when new students join college) is good but during the even sems its pretty bad. But the college has now said it will improve on its food and the quality and variety available for students.

Admission

I chose this college mainly for its campus and its autonomy status. The college campus is very beautiful and spread vastly across almost 70 acres making it one of the most beautiful and pleasent campus(i have seen and been to) Admission process if mainly done thru the website Once its approved and admission is done, we have to go to the campus to provide our cerridicates(10th and 12th grade and any other if we belong to a minorty group) and the exam for cutoff is KEAM exam which happens once every year, and cutoff is for students <25000 rank. i didnt apply for any other college other than amaljyothi. i thought of applying for Rajagiri but my marks werent good enough for me to make it there without my parents spending a tonne of money there. Amaljyothi also had the same but it provided more benefits than rajagiri and it was also closer to home so overall, me and my familt felt amaljyothi would be better. So i applied just here

Faculty

3.5

There are a LOT of faculty in amaljyothi. In CSE itself there are around 150-200 faculties. There are 3 exams each sem. 2 series exams(which are practise exams which also count for our internals) and 1 semester exam. Usually the pass percent for each sem, from my class is almost 80% and the first year courses were combined. Despite being a cs student i had to learn about other courses, such as mechanical, civil, graphics, mechanics, etc. But it was only for first year to get the basics of every subject in case we have to apply the knowledge we got in the future. From second year on it focuses on our course and the subjects we opted for.

Other Applied Colleges

Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology - [RSET] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Better campus and options found in amaljyothi. And family preferred amaljyothi more.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably
