Likes

The study environment is very good,the teachers are also well qualified
Boys girls ratio is almost the same which is 1:1
B.com(h) is morning department so you get time to study for your additional courses

Dislikes

They don't conduct any fest in the college
The college ground is almost 1 km away from the main campus

Course Curriculum Overview

So the curriculum is completed design by the University of Calcutta and the college doesn't have to do anything with the curriculum.I personally feel that the curriculum is a bit old according to today's world

Recently Internship from Praxis Business school and Bajaj Finserv was provided to the students where almost all the students did there intership at either or the one.Students can also apply for off campus intership also if they are interested

This year out of 110-120 students almost 90 students got placed in reputed and good companies,the college have its own placement cell who brings companies who can hire students from the campus, companies like TCS, Deloitte,EY also came last year

Fees and Financial Aid

Sem 1 it was 32,000 and in sem 2 it was 19k, registeration fees for applying in the college was 500 per course and admission fees is included in sem 1 fee,all the categories student has to pay the same amount, college provide scholarship to students who performs good in there academics

Campus Life

The infrastructure is very good the B.com Classes happens in AC room with good desk and table not only that but there are many clubs in our college where students can take part in extra curricular activities

Admission

I have applied in other colleges of CU and DU but unfortunately I didn't got DU,but I got IIM Ranchi and IIFT Kakinada by my IPMAT score.I chose this college as it has a great alumini network and it's rank was 100 in nirf at that time but this year it is 88 and it's the best college under University of Calcutta

Faculty

The teachers are very supportive and they are always ready to help students in Whatever manner they can,as it comes under University of Calcutta so all the paper are checked by the university and internal marks are always positive from there side

Placement Experience:

BESC has enjoyed an extremely high placement record. The Placement Cell draws 35 to 40 companies including the likes of TCS, EY, PWC, Deloitte, Oracle, Axis Bank, KPMG and Indigo to name a few. Eligible from 1 st sem students on wards Avg package - 4lpa highest is 16lpa After getting this degree i am thinking of pursuing mba anf then getting into business

Well among the curriculum of Bcom my most favourite is the management and Economics part. Cause I really love them and the teachers of that subject are really good . The improvement that I would want is the professors to come to the classes and teach us and finish the syllabus on time.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement in the last year which is 7th and 8 semester one can apply for internship or job from 7th and 8th semester. The highest package offered was of 11 lakh so far. And the average package is 4 to 5 lakh per annum. Like most of the Goenkans I am also thinking of pursuing CA as a profession but for now I am focusing on my BCom degree and after my BCom degree I will complete my MBA from a good reputed college.

I choose B.Com Hons as my subject because I want to pursue MBA in my future.The faculty of this college is amazing.They are all very helpful.Total no. of students for this course currently is 800 something and each sector has 120 students.The teachers use projectors to make us understand the concept clearly.Sem exams occur every six months and if you study properly you will score good marks for sure

Do Right Things Now For Your Future

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Out of the companies some of them are Institute of Charter Accountancy, Institute of GST ETC. They give us some packages for jobs. Like the highest package is about 50000 rupees and the lowest is 15000 rupees. Only few studets get chance in this companies. Like 5-10% students. I want to be a bank manager so i just keep my study moving on.

It was good to be a part of that college

You have to pass the 12 th boards with above 90% marks then only you'll get the college. They always have the application form and all the informations in there official college website. There was reservation policies as I was sc so it was a little bit low cut off for my reservation. The exam pattern and difficulty level was a little bit hard. The admission process was fully online and convenient. eligibility of my course is above 75% in PCB subjects in 12th grade. online application and everything related to admission is available on the website. For taking admission in Scottish church college you should have atleast 90% best of 4 in your 12th boards(although it will slightly depend on department to department). Scottish Church College doesn't take any admission test. The college admits students on the basis of their board exams. So likewise I got admitted to the college through my board exam marks. The eligibility of the course is the percentage of one's board exam marks. The application form can be found in internet on the college's official website, and further more details,like application fees, application dates etc are given on the college website. If anyone asks me that what aspects of the admission process I didn't like, my simple answer is there is nothing that I didn't like about the admission process.
