Remarks
The college is great, It has an amazing crowd. There are a number of societies that actually deserve the credit for making DCAC what it is today. The college is always bustling with energy. The only downside is its infrastructure and its lack of placements and internships for students belonging to the Arts background.
Course Curriculum Overview
I recently graduated from college, so I'll start by saying that the college does provide quality education, but it solely depends upon your respective course. I pursued Political Science Honors, which is the sort of subject that requires a lot of discussions and debates, in that aspect the faculty does a great job at making the course fun and interactive. The curriculum is diverse and interesting but when it comes to research, there aren't many opportunities. Most of the assignments are based on a singular topic for which the information is mostly derived from a few particular books. I really wanted to write a research paper, but sadly didn't get an opportunity to do so. Apart from that, the curriculum is mostly updated and modified as per the needs. There are various elective subjects for the student to choose from. The exam structure comprises of internal exams and semester exams. Being regular to the class definitely pays off.
Placement Experience
The college is known for its amazing placements but it is mostly restricted to the students of Commerce and Economics background. The placement cell of DCAC, Broadway boasts of a great conversion ratio, various Multi National Companies set placements at DCAC and provide some great packages. I'm not sure about the internships, but the college does allow you to pursue an internship. I myself interned at five different companies during my college life.
College Events
When I first joined DCAC, I was told by everyone that the college is known for its party culture especially during its popular annual fest (which turned out to be disappointing). The college does conduct a number of events and festivals, from the annual fest to the festive celebrations to the fresh face competition. Something or the other is always happening. Apart from the annual cultural fest, Ambrosia each department and each society conduct their own event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible. It hardly costs you around 8k per year. The fees are paid online through the web portal. The overall expenses comprise of commuting from the metro station to the college, The college does not provide hostel facility but there are a number of accommodations available around the college and the canteen definitely serves some good food at an affordable price.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship is provided by Delhi University, there is a certain criterion that has to be followed to avail the benefits. One can talk to the principal regarding the same.
Campus Life
The first time that I saw the college, I was impressed by the entrance, the name of the college placed perfectly against the black marble wall, but the moment I crossed the threshold and saw infrastructure of the college all my expectations were shattered. But there are some other aspects through which the college compensates for its poor infrastructure. Hands down DCAC has the best crowd. People are really chilled out, there is a mixed crowd, the gender ratio is almost equal and you'll always find groups of people busy with something or the other.
Alumni/Alumna
I don't know much about the Alumni network, some of the seniors were really nice. Each year an Alumni meeting is held where all the passed out students get to reunite.
Admission
Coming from a family where each and every member had graduated from Delhi University's North Campus (Kirorimal and Ramjas) I too had plans to follow the same path but as it turns out I paved my own way and became a part of (highly underrated) South Campus. I started off by joining Maitri and then Gargi and finally took admission in DCAC. The crowd played an integral role in influencing my decision. The people are really carefree and there are no political pressure groups present in the college.
Faculty
In my personal opinion, the faculty is good, not great but it's pretty decent. The teachers are helpful and understanding. They do possess the knowledge and the passion required for the subject and they teach it in a similar manner. There are constant debates and discussions going around during the class where students get a chance to express their views on a particular topic. It's more of an interactive session.
