Course Curriculum Overview

4

The reason I took up b.com honour is because I'm pursuing CA side by side. The curriculum prepares you for the real world because it's a practical knowledge we are getting like accounting, marketing etc. Which are very much needed in the daily routine of our life. Currently I don't have any recommendation as of now because I am a fresher and I am still getting used to it. The frequency of the exams are every 4 to 5 months the difficulty is quite good. It's much needed because the students need to know more and study thoroughly.

Internships Opportunities

4

College do provide internship opportunities for the students to build the CV. You get internship with stipend up around 15000 per month and the internship program could last up to 3 month. Company like Wipro and many others came in for internship. The project for the internship was marketing you had to talk to the clients and do some marketing about the company.

Placement Experience

3.5

After completing the third year of college the friends become available for placement and the campus placement is is not so good but they have a percentage of 30% placement guarantee. Companies visited till now is Wipro and etc college students have beeen placed for around 3 lakhs of packag. The highest package is around 5 lakhs and the profile offered for it was marketing result. I don't have a plan for getting a placement from this college because I am pursuing CA so I can get a job from there.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The total fees is the about 3 lakhs without any reservation and discount, as I below from general caste. The first semester fees with admission charges was 43900 rs and later on for every semester the fees is 35000 rs . Admission fees is 8000 rs included in first semester and yearly it add up to 70000 rs . The college provides gujrati quota in which they get a discount of 50% on the total fees. No scholarship was provided by the college

Campus Life

4

The campus and the social life in the college is very good the campus is very good and very developed the social life is also very good because the people there are from good families the communicate and the behaviour is also very nice so you would like to be there with them and hangout with them. Clubs are engaging they provide you things which helps you for learning something new. The technology in the classroom is nice they have AC classrooms and projector for studying. Students run the social clubs teachers are the head but students usually run it and try to get more students engaged.

Admission

I didn't apply for any other colleges because this was the main college I wanted to get in as there is no restriction for attendance and the Teachers do provide you a little bit of tips for your professional courses. I didn't get any rejection from any other college and the admission process in this college is very easy the eligibility criteria is normal you have to pass your board exam and the cutoff in my morning batch was around 65% it varies for every other batches and timings.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is very nice, the teachers have a professional teaching and technique style. The relationship between teachers and students is good. Accounting department and economic department are the ones which I liked more. The exams are taken every four months which consists of 25 marks tutorial exam basically viva, and 75 marks of written test. The difficulty have been increased this year as it comes under Calcutta University ( CU ). The passing of the exams are now more difficult compared to previous years.

On passing 5th semester, the students of Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration are eligible for campus placement offers. The campus reach out college during our sixth semester to interview us. After passing sixth semester we can proceed with the jobs in case we qualify. All the Big 4s viz EY, Deloitte, PwC and KPMG including with MNCs reach our college for campus placement opportunities. They definitely select students each year. The highest package offered till date is 10 lakhs with a associate profile. The average package is 3 laks. The percentage of students getting placement offer is between 5% to 10 %. My plan after the BCOM course is becoming a successful Chartered Accountant and Cost and Management Accountant.
