Course Curriculum Overview

5

Teaching methods are moderate. The difficulty level of the examinations is not very high. Internship opportunities are not so good. Practical labs are not well maintained. Otherwise all good.

Internships Opportunities

5

There were no companies who came to our campus and there was 3 months course available. They don't provide as many internship opportunities with a stipend. In the last year, we completed 2 projects in our chosen subject of specialization

Fees and Financial Aid

Per year 30000 scholarship for science stream. Per-year fees are approximately 3000 (examination fees are excluded). Other scholarships are also available. This course is very affordable at Vidyasagar University

Campus Life

5

There are generally two political student union in the university.Yes there are a annual fest and fresher's ceremony. There is a very very good library with modern facilities. There are also many sports activities in campus and there is also a museum in the campus

Admission

This is a well-known university in west bengal. It is also a old and reputed university. Due to the COVID there was no admission test. I took admission through bsc marks. Yes I got rejected from Calcutta University due to high cutoff

Faculty

5

Faculty members are good. The difficulty level of the exam is very low. Not more than 5 students get supplied in the semester examination. One of the organic faculty member's behaviour is not so good. Otherwise, students and teachers' relationship is good

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.

From the 2nd last semester, that is the final year, students become eligible for campus placements. Last year, two of our seniors got placed at Reborn Child Development Centre (Durgapur and Asansol) with an average package of Rs 200,000. This year, three students of our batch, including me, got an internship for three months at Reborn through an in-person interview.

Biotechnology is a highly demanding course in today's world. The syllabus for this course is mostly around bookish knowledge and you have to gather outside knowledge on your own. There must be an internship for every student arranged by department itself in various other institues or labs for practical work experience.
