What Students Say
Likes
- The first thing i liked the most about the institution is the faculty. It is way too much better than the faculty at national law universities.
- The second thing which i liked the most is that the location of university in itself offers an opportunity of various internships and competitions
- Even though the institution is new, the efforts done by the administration are worth a big round of applause.
Dislikes
- The course of the institution is not well recognised within the university itself.
Internships Opportunities
Since, this is a new institution;there are no such companies or rolls on record available right now which can be listed here. However, it is observed that tier-1 law firms will be on the list for internships and projects for the students. In the intital years, they may persuade with district lawyers, ngos and dlsa. This can be followed up in further years by going to higher levels.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees i will be paying is rupees two lakhs. It includes the tution fees, library ,exam and other charges excluding the charge for hostel and food. There is no specific different fees for other category holders but the university offers with the option to avail of scholarship benefits which are based on need. the college also offers laptop reimbursement scheme in which irrespective of the economic status documents reflect, everyone can avail 50,000 reimbursement offer on their laptops after producing a valid bill of the laptop.
Campus Life
There are no such fixed annual festivals since the course is new but the societies keep organizing special lectures and different kinds of days as per the occassion. The range and availability of books availiable in the library is limited to the curiculum and requires more wide collection of books from different domains. The facility of air conditioners is done in the classroom along with good ventilation of windows but they do lack fans. In terms of technology, there is a smart board facility available which teachers often use to teach. The campus offers extra curricular facilities of sports, debate, adr, moot court, seminars and social media. The impact of these student run societies is helpful in the sense that it helps students in the organization of their lives.
Admission
I applied to the consortium of national law universities and got into nlu nagpur and nlu Patiala but went on with my decision to chose this university because of the quality of faculty and the location for the hub of opportunities for which I chose this institution over availing a nlu tag. I did get rejected from the top nlus because my rank and marks did not meet the criteria to be eligible there for admission. The admission process of my college is done through a common law admission test for which one should have passed exams of grade 12. The one with the highest merit or score on the exam will be eligible for the seat. In case of a tie, the marks from grade 12 are taken into consideration.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:10 that is considerably a very good ratio looking at the fact that it is a givernment institution with high intake of students. The faculty to student relationship is professional in nature that always results into frutiful discussions on not only the topic but participating debates on issues around the society. The faculties are very approachable and helpful in all regards.
