Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is really hectic, leaving no time for anything else. You need to study hard if you even want to just pass the courses, there are many courses in which more than half of the batch has failed. 3rd semester course ELD, batch of 2022, 80 students failed out of 110. Linear algebra in first sem course, the first maths course in that only every year 50% freshers fail. No matter how many students fail, or even the whole batch fails, profs will NOT reduce the passing slabs. The curriculum does although prepare us for the corporate jobs as it makes us work really hard, but its a bit too much in my opinion, leaving no room for anything else Some courses are COMPLETELY useless, like IHCI(Introduction to Human Computer Interaction) regardless of what the name suggests, there is nothing related to CSE, its a design course of first semester which all students have to do, and is one of the lamest courses of this college with no learning at all

Internships Opportunities

3

We don't get apple here. The average stipend that the college boasts is 80k per month but in reality many students don't even get an internship and the exact amount they earn is hidden. Some top companies are Adobe, Amazon, Google, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Qualcomm, LinkedIn, Jio, Microsoft, Samsung. these companies offer really high stipends easily more than 50k otherwise other smaller companies, startups etc give only 10-20k MAX stipend

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements better than many other colleges but still decent only. And because of all the recession and everything, many students are still unplaced here. The college boasts really high placement and internship on its site but all those are fake numbers, many students don't even get placed and aren't even allowed to sit in the placements but they are not even counted by the college and hence the college says 99.81% students placed but there are so many students they didn't even allow to sit in the placement rounds or the company rejected because of low cgpa. Recently, TCS had come to this college, they kep the eligibility at 8.5cgpa and offered a package of 4.5LPA. HIghest package goes to crores but only overseas and almost all domestic packages have in hand salary of 1 lakhs per month or around that. Right now there is no demand for engineers so placements at an all time low otherwise you can have a cgpa of 7+ and easily get placement and 7.5/8+ for internship

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees increases every year- 450k first year 475k 2nd year 500k 3rd year 530k 4th year Multiple scholarships are offered but mainly under the Government schemes, college offers no internship by itself, there is a laptop scheme though

Campus Life

3.5

The clubs are all dead, the only thing they do in the name of activities is stream movies, no activites organised, nothing related to the actual club. There are 3 main fests, Esya-Tech Fest in August, last year Gajendra Verma performed here, Aman Dhattarwal came, and many other popular influencers, we have Esummit in April,we had Ashneer Grover last to last yearm and the Biggest IIITD annual fest ODYSSEY every year in January, the most hyped and the biggest artists are called. Fest are 2 days long, Friday and Saturday. The library is great, books can be issued for 2 weeks, and can also be renewed for 2 more weeks, we can issue the kindles too which is really awesome and we have access to almost all the books, online reading subscription platforms and if not, we can request for it and it will be available. The sports facilities are good, we have a 24x7 gym, and all sports available, only swimming is not for free rest eveyrthing is free. Can roam the campus 24/7, come and go out any time

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are really nice We get a bed(no matttress), a table with drawers, overhead drawers, a wooden slab and an almirah. There's a fridge and mircrowave at the ground floor of each hostel, and a common room with a foosball table, sofa, table chairs and a really large tv to watch movies and shows No curfew timings there are two washrooms on each floor of the hostel The best part is we can call for the cleaning services whenever we want, room cleaning, if the washrooms are dirty we can get them cleaned too and the washrooms are anyways cleaned every day early morning, and properly cleaned. The mess food is really bad to say the least, it's barely edible and not at all sanitary, hair found many times, if you think you can eat canteen food, then you are wrong, coz canteen food is equally bad. Many just order from the Dhabas nearby as it affordable and tasty too. Hostel fees is 34k per semester, with an extra 10k one time security charges, but the hostel are really limited and hard to get

Admission

I was getting the option to take electrical engineering in DTU and NSUT, and CSE in DSEU and NSUT east and west campus, but I didnt want to do electrical engineering and wanted to keep my options for cse open so I took electronics in this college, and DSEU and NSUT other branches are not at all reputed colleges so didn't take those colleges I chose this college because of its infrastructure, and less students and mainly because noone from my previous school was coming to this college so a fresh start with completely new strangers. Although after coming here, every IIITD students wishes they took DTU/NSUT instead of this college because of the workload. Only blessing here is that we no attendance policy

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are all experts in their fields, all did PhD, from really esteemed universities, but as usual all that is of no help because at the end of the day everyone studies from youtube, the profs may be really expert in their fields but are really bad at explaining concepts. Some profs are really GOATed tho, Pravesh Bayani in first sem Digital Ciruits course was a great proffessor and made sure everyone understood everything there are also many profs who dont care how many students fail in their course, even if the whole batch fails they won't decrease the passing criteria by even 1% There is mid semester exams, end semester exams, and proffesor can include quizzes, assignments, worksheets, homework submissions, projects etc in the cours grading. It varies greatly for each and every course. And you need to study hard if you even want to pass 90% of the courses in this college, many profs fail 80% of batch The profs are easily approachable, you can go meet them in their office hours

We have to understand and go for training as per the direction of our enhanced cell guidance. Companies take a lot of things into account apart from scores and this is where it becomes inevitable for us to go for it. Top level companies are the ones that gets along and gives nearly 90% of the students.

Placement offers are not that good, like if you're pursuing other courses than btech so the placement is good but in btech, tech companies don't come that often, so you have to develop your skills during your academics and apply offline for job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Currently what a job require and what we are being taught in the college, totally different. We have to study separately for preparing job because in our course curriculum, importance skills aren't taught and the frequency of exam throughout the year is too much. We don't get enough time for preparing jobs. We need less frequency of exams throughout the year so that we can prepare for a job.
