Course Curriculum Overview

3

The students are required to take 6 theory subjects and 2 laboratory subjects in a semester. Each Branch has different subjects, Both lab and theory. The APJAKTU has a vast curriculum for every branch and all of the contents inside the subject are marked with PO(Program Outcome) and CO(Course Outcome) Which are helpful to the students to realise the relevance of the subjects and contents that they are studying.A semester can be upto 4 to 5 months and each subject would have 5 modules to complete. The teachers teach the subject in modules in these following 5 months and each internal exams would be conducted in between. This creates a very comprehensive as well as moderately tough schedule for students

Internships Opportunities

2

There are very few internship opportunities in the college. the students have to actually work a little harder on themselves and hone skills on their own to get any type of paid internships for themselves. Other type fo seminars and inerrnships are provided by the college to the students for gaining extra knowledge.

Placement Experience

2.5

The students are eligible for campus placements after 6th semester. The comapnies like cognizant, infosys, tcs etc have visited and recruited students from my college before. A student must have no arrears as well as an average CGPA to qualify for campus placements. The highest payment would be between 5-8LPA .

Fees and Financial Aid

In Vimal Jyothi Engineering College for the academic year 2022-2026, all branches' annual tuition fees were set to 97,000Rs. Students Alloted With government Seats Are Also required to pay the same full amount unless they have a caste-based concession. For students from sc,st and other economically weaker sections, who have acquired a government seat are eligible for caste concessions. The government provides a fee waiver of over 75,000Rs for the students. This waiver also applies to hostel and mess fee as well, with the government covering the cost of food. a caution deposit of more than 10,000Rs has to be paid to the college upfront along with the fees, A similar fee for the hostel as welll for a caution deposit.

Campus Life

4

There are usually very less cultural and technical fests in our college. On Even semester there is a techfest in each year which would occur in the middle of the semester. There is a public library which consists of all types of engineering books from very old syllabus as well. There is engagement in extra curricular activites like sports and arts , but they are not promoted properly by the colege at all. There are no student run groups, The groups are all managed by the management and the students can participate in the groups and make changes but overall the control is in the managements hands

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostels are moderately better than other hostel facility in governent colleges.A stduent has to share a room with 4 others. Each student would have individual work desk, a shelf , a chair and a bed. there are two fan in a room. There is no laundry facilities. The students have to do it by themselves.there is also wifi for the students present in the college hostel with a customised username and password for each student.there are quality meals ranging from all vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines.

Admission

I have applied for other engineering colleges in Kannur, Kerala. But Even though i have got admission in other colleges, I preferred this college beacuse i have gotten computer science in this college but didnt get computer science in other colleges that i have applied because of a varying mark in my KEAM score. I have gotten EC in other college but i didnt want to pursue that course. The admission process of my college was pretty simple including filling some forms from the office and then joining later on a fixed date in the college. Payments were done accordingly

Faculty

3

In our college, The Students and Teachers go hand-in-hand during classses. The teachers are very friendly and engange in the classes with students actively. Some of the faculties were very experienced in not only educating us about the subject but also about life and other extra out of the box things. They were brilliant as both teachers and elders. Similarly some faculties were not so interested in taching the subject and hence the classes were quite boring and not engaging at all sometimes. A student has to write a total of 3 internal/series examination in a single semester, each exam of 60 marks and 30 marks for passing the exam. the students are given a question bank and are supposed to only get questions from the question bank in the exam, but sometimes out of syllabus questions are also present. The exams can be considere as medium toughness. Not so tough nor easy.

Placement Experience:

Placements cells are supportive in terms of networking with different companies and are readily active for the students competing in getting internships and placements. The college has a tie up with different companies like Infosys , Wipro , Deloitte , IBM , NVIDIA , Deshaw Private Limited etc. Students become eligible from semester 5 onwards for on campus placements. The offers made by these companies are 8 LPA to 9 LPA by deloitte , innfosys , and IBM but the highest package is being offered by Deshaw and NVIDIA that is 60 LPA and 47 LPA. The average package is around 11 LPA and the percentage of students getting placed are above 80%. My plan after getting the degree is to work for an IT Company to get the hands on knowledge about what the current technologies demand and get experienced in that and work further upon it.
