Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for B Tech Admission

Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India / Persons of Indian origin (PIO) / Overseas citizens of India (OCI). PIO /OCI candidates are not eligible for any kind of reservation.
Academic Requirements: Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as Compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects with at least 45% marks put together are eligible for admission.
Entrance Examination: Candidates should qualify in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2023 (KEAM 2023) conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Govt. of Kerala are eligible (Candidates should have scored a minimum of 10 marks each in Paper I and Paper II) Government allotment as well as management seats. Candidates who have not qualified in KEAM 2023 are eligible for admission to the NRI seat only.
NRI allotment: A score in the entrance is not required for NRI allotment. However, they have to fulfill the academic eligibility as per norms.
Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December 2022. No relaxation of age will be allowed

The admission procedure at VJEC is as per the government regulations and the policies of the KCECMA association declared in the prospectus.

Government allotment: 50% of the total seats in each branch will be filled by the government allotment.
Community seats in Govt allotment: 10% of the seats in each branch are allotted on a community basis by the government. Applicants have to submit the relevant docs to prove their community as per the direction.
NRI Seats: 15% of the seats are allotted to the NRI category as per norms
Management allotment: 35% of the seats are allotted under the management category on pure merit from the rank list published by the Vimal Jyothi College.

In Vimal Jyothi Engineering College for the academic year 2022-2026, all branches' annual tuition fees were set to 97,000Rs. Students Alloted With government Seats Are Also required to pay the same full amount unless they have a caste-based concession. For students from sc,st and other economically weaker sections, who have acquired a government seat are eligible for caste concessions. The government provides a fee waiver of over 75,000Rs for the students. This waiver also applies to hostel and mess fee as well, with the government covering the cost of food. a caution deposit of more than 10,000Rs has to be paid to the college upfront along with the fees, A similar fee for the hostel as welll for a caution deposit.

My experience here in Vimal Jyothi Engineering College

Dislikes

Many teachers and students judge each other based on marks. The campus is quite strict. They just dont care about the mental wellness of students. They conduct 3 internal exams a sem . They also provide the question banks in advance .
Lack of growth oppurtunities.It is all about studying according to syllabus. They do conduct some add on courses but they never check up whether the new tutors are good enough or not. We just end up wasting 2-3 days as nothing good came out of it.
Bad attitude from the management. They are all about collecting money from you. They behave well with the parents but not with students.I had to call my parents over to college to check up something related to fees as they were reluctant to answer me

Fees and Financial Aid:

I belong to the general category but studying in the merit seat. My overall fee is around 95000 per year. I get a scholarship of 5000 per year due to my Keam rank. Most of my friends from reserved categories don't have to pay any fees as the government funds them. The merit cum scholarship by the Central government provides up to 30000 rupees per year but there are rumors that the scholarship is not available anymore.

VJEC - My Experience

Fees and Financial Aid:

Tution fee is high on this private college. It will be 95000 - 120000 due to separate fees for many college needs per year also this college is autonomous now. The caution fee is 5000 rupees here. Those who are in the OEC category will get scholarships from the government so they only need 20000 rupees for the fee. In semester exams, if you get an SGPA greater than 8.5, get 30000 rupees as a scholarship, also not in the general category. General category students will not get any of this scholarship. I think campus recruitment processes and placement cell are very good due to high fee having private college. It's good.

The annual academic fees is 95000. And the hostel fees for 6 months is 10000. Hostel mess fees is calculated in each month respect to the amount of days stayed in the hostel. There are some scholorship available for the students with respect to their cast, and with respect to their CGPA.
