The college focuses more on practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge because in this field pratical knowledge and experience plays a major role. The course prepares you very well for the real world as it conducts many field visits and seminars and gives you internship opportunities which gives you an essence of the real world. The teachers have a really nice teaching methods in which most of the students understand everything at once.

Mostly everyone who seats for placement gets placed in companies like godrej , pepperfry , etc. The average package ranges from 3-4 lpa and highest package is around 5-6 lpa. Sports the subject where the college lakes behind. The college has ZERO sports activities which disappoints me and every one very much.
Admission
I am from Asansol, a city in west bengal which is 200 km away from kolkata. So, my parents wanted that I should stay near to my hometown. So that in times of emergency its easy for me to reach my home. Firstly, I applied for BMS (Hons) at St. Xavier's College, kolkata but because of low marks in maths i could make there. Secondly, I also applied for KiiT, Bhubaneswar and luckily i got admission their but they were offering me BBA in Hospitality & Tourism and in this course i was just not interested and therefore i didn't go there. Lastly, I got admission in JDBI. The Admission procedure here is really very smooth and swift. Initially I got a mail stating my admission and all the details and after paying the admission amount later I got a call from the college for document verify and hence the admission was completed. In kolkata JDBI has the best faculty and environment for interior designing and no other college offers a better course of interior designing than JDBI.
Faculty
The faculty members of JDBI are excellent specially the interior designing department. The teachers are really very helpful & understanding. They are easy to approach. In JDBI, we students can approach to the teachers without any hesitation. Mr. Chandan Panda , teacher of principle of art and design is a teacher who we all students love because the way he teacher is awesome. Mrs.Shweta and Mrs. Payel they are also one the best teachers the college has got. All the teachers are very helpful and even before the exams they guide us very well about how to approach the paper, time management & marking scheme. There are a total of 2 exams in each semester one is mid semester exams ( class test/ unit test) and the end semester exams. Both are moderately hard but if you listen to the teacher's advice and attend classes regularly then nothing is hard.
