Course Curriculum Overview
The course of interior designing in JDBI is very well planned and designed. The college focuses more on practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge because in this field, practical knowledge and experience play a major role. The course prepares you very well for the real world as it conducts many field visits and seminars and gives you internship opportunities, which give you an essence of the real world. The teachers have a really nice teaching methods in which most of the students understand everything at once.
Internships Opportunities
The college offers a 6 weeks internship program in different companies and interior designing firms with good amount of stipend depending upon your performance. The main aim of internship is to give you an experience of the real world.

The college offers good placement opportunities students are eligible for campus placement from the 8th semester. Mostly everyone who seats for placement gets placed in companies like godrej , pepperfry , etc. The average package ranges from 3-4 lpa and highest package is around 5-6 lpa. Many student like me who come from business background mostly join their business and flourish in their life.

Dent's CBS are organized and very well run. Run. Sports is a subject where the college lags behind. The college has ZERO sports activities, which disappoints me and everyone very much
Admission
I aI'm from Asansol, a city in West Bengal that is 200 km away from Kolkata. So, my parents wanted me to stay near my hometown. So that in times of emergency, it's easy for me to reach my home.Firstly, I applied for BMS (Hons) at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, but because of low marks in maths, I couldn't make it there. Secondly, I also applied for KiiT, Bhubaneswar, and luckily I got admission there, but they were offering me BBa BBAn Hospitality & Tourism, and in this course I was just not interested, and therefore I didn't go there. So, I got admission to JDBI. The admission procedure here is really very smooth and swift. Initially I got an email about my admission and all the details, and after paying the admission amount, I got a call from the college for document verification, and hence the admission was completed. Kolkata has the best faculty and environment for interior designing; no other college offers a better course in interior designing than JDBI.
Faculty
The faculty members of JDBI are excellent, especially the interior designing department. The teachers are really very helpful & understanding. They are easy to approach. In JDBI, we students can approach the teachers without any hesitation. Mr. Chandan Panda, teacher of principles of art and design, is a teacher who we all students love because the way he teaches is awesome. Mrs. Shweta and Mrs. Payel are also two of the best teachers the college has got. All the teachers are very helpful, and even before the exams, they guide us very well about how to approach the paper, time management, and marking scheme. There are a total of 2 exams in each semester: the mid-semester (class test/test) and the end-semester. Both are moderately hard; if you listen to the teacher's advice and attend classes regularly, nothing is hard.
