What Students Say

Likes

The overall studies and the faculties are good.
The learning environment is good enough.
Other facilities like sports and overall development is also good.

Dislikes

The fees is so expensive. It is not affordable for middle class people.
The campus is situated in a place that is too hot.
Few things are lacking like a good coordination between teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is is relevant, but few subjects are like out of our course. The curriculum id set to prepare us for rea-world applications. To improve few irrelevant subjects should be removed.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Rhe college fee is bit expensive. But we get scholarship for BPL category and State Quota. In my case the fee is ?1,00,000/- per semester which includes my tution fees, lab fees, etc. Few of my SC/ST friends are even getting more relief on their fees. Overall it is a bit expensive college.

Campus Life

The campus experience is really cool. We have an annual fest called KAALRAV i.e. the biggest college fest of Northeast India. The library facility is good and overall everything is perfect. Students are friendly and serious towards studies.

Admission

This college is one of the best engineering college of our state. I got confirmed admission at Sikkim Government College, Tadong and Sikkim GOVERNMENT college, Burtuk but I choose this college because I wanted to do B. TECH.

Faculty

The faculty-to-student teacher is okay, but the faculty-to-student relationship is not so good. They are not so approachable. I feel like Sir Bimal is the best teacher, he teaches chemistry. Personally I don't dislike any faculty. Per semester there are 3 exams and they are medium level. But few students dail to clear the exams like 1 out of 10 students

first impressions

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester onwards. companies in which some of the big names are DELL, ACCENTURE, INFOSYS, STATE STREET, KEYSIGHT TECH . The highest package is 54 LPA (google) and avg package was around 4-5 LPA. 80% students get placements. my plan is to pursue m.tech

Placement Experience:

Placement is all about your preparation as opportunities come too much but if you have power then crack that one. Highest was going in 2024 batch is 44 lpa and 66 percent was placed as there are recession going on this time due to covid all market crases.

Joined wisely

Placement Experience:

From 4th sem the campus placement starts so sutdents gets plenty of time to prepare for placements The company being visited to the campus includes Mercedes Benz India, Maruti Suzuki, Microsoft etc Hightest package ranges upto 33 lakhs and average include upto 5lakhs College offers 100% placements except Civil My plans is to get some of the working experience with the company being placed

Placement Experience:

Yeah replacement system I am not family or with this placement in all because had just recently join not just recently it's been like one and half year but also in placement system I am not focusing on that side because you know what I don't rely on this college I just need degree from this college and just want to be independent and search for job business on my own this collage is just waste of time still I am saying this tho I cannot do anything about this because I am already in second year so if I leave this college now I have no other option to do better option to do so I am I am stock in this college you can say and replacement system everything is just fine not so much good not

Placement Experience:

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.

Review of NIT Sikkim

Placement Experience:

If you are capable enough you will be getting decent placements, Overall placement statistics lies about 80-90% with an average pacakage of 9-10 lacs per annum including 90-95% for CSE, ECE. EEE and almost 80-85% for core branches like Mechanical and Civil. Some of major past recruiters are CDAC, CDOT, BEL, VEDANTA, DELOITTE, MAHINDRA, MARUTI SUZUKI, UKG, GENPACT, BPCL, L&T, ALSTOM, NVIDIA, MICROSOFT, SLB, TERADATA, CGI and many others. Highest pacakage for the batch of 2023-24 was 44 LPA by NVIDIA and average was around 9.95 LPA. From start of the 7th semesters , the students can register themselves for placements and from 5th semester onwards student can register themselves for internship opputunities. NIT Sikkim also provide opportunities of highes studies like PhD from reputed institutes like IIT Hyderabad, IIT Delhi and some other prominent institutions as well.

SMIT a good option Option for collage If searching something near Northeast India.

Placement Experience:

The overall placement rate was around 90% the highest offered to passout student was INR 35 LPA furthermore The SMIT Average package stood at inr 6 LPA . We have Training and placement cell at sikkim manipal institute of technology to facilitate placement oppurtunities.

Placement Experience:

From 5 th semester student can apply for internships and after 6th semester they can apply for placements. The average package is 7 lakh per annum and highest is based upon recession and market structure. Last year one senior got 44 lpa package from Nivida.

NIT Sikkim overall review

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from 7th sem and placement was good before but In this 2024 batch it's the worst placement of all time only 58% students got placement with less package because of recession Im looking for a placement and further plan is to work for a company

Joined wisely

I was selected in for Downtown university but for my personal ease i choose to study in SMIT. No i was not being rejecte form any colleges. Due to some of my personal problems i decided to joing SMIT as wishing to study at the college situated over my own state.
