Course Curriculum Overview

4

My electrical and communication engineering course plan is good enough, that can prepare us to sit in placements directly, curriculum is good enough to make us prepare for internships and placements. The frequency of exams, first month in a semester there will be no exams but after that quiz 1 will start, just after that midsemester exams will also start, and then 1 month no exams, at last quiz2 and endsemester exams will start, that's it. You can take the frequency and timing of exams along with my perspective on their difficulty level will be less only.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Almost all the big companies offer internships in my college, with pretty good stipend. You can actually go onsite and work with those companies or you can go to other universities and work there and you can get good experience.

Placement Experience

4

From 6th semester, students are eligible for campus placements, there are more than 100 companies visited for my college nitk, companies like bajaj auto, caterpillar, amazon, flipkart, zomato, hindustan cocacola, deloitte, google, Microsoft, texas instruments, philips carbon black, oracle, tcs, 99 games, tata consultancies services, and many other companies. The highest package was 55lpa in computet science department this academic year, and average is like 18lpa for all over branches, In my department electrical and communication engineering the average package is like 21lpa and median package is also around 20lpa which is good only. My plans after getting degree is to get a job in campus placements only and work for some years and then my interests ill search off

Fees and Financial Aid

Iam doing btech in ece branch , where for each semester the academics fee will be some where around 75k, and other than that mess fee is different which is 33k for each semester. And iam from obc and have income certificate with annual income of 11lpa+ , so i won't get any fee remissions and no scholarships also, where many people get almost 100% fee remission and extra scholarships. For people having income certificate with less than 2lpa , they will not be charged with any academic fee, that means only 30k for mess for each semester will be charged. For sc and st people they don't care about income certificate, directly they clear your academic fees.

Campus Life

4.5

There are 2 big fests in my college they are incident, a cultural fest longs upto 3 days , which will be held in even semester around february or march and another fest is engineer which is held in odd semester and longs upto 2-3 days, engineer is a technical fest where almost all the technical events will be held like robowars and drones and aeroplanes and somethings, project expos will be held in this fest.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Here, meal quality is pretty average or you can say less than average. The meals are not that good, but if you are from coastal region of karnataka you find it pretty normal, north indian people and telugu people can't adgust to this taste that fast, registration is simple you can just choose one mess in the college website which is run through students club

Admission

I applied for National Institute of technology trichy and national Institute of technology warangal also, but my first priority was national Institute of technology surathkal, and this college have its own beach and its located on coastal side of karnataka where there are many good tourists places where you can roam. Admission process in my college normal like other colleges only, like submitting all the certificates like 10th, 12th memo, transfer certificates, physical checkup, verification, category certificate, aadhaar card, and many else. You need to get more than some 99% percentile if you are general to get into national Institute of technology surathkal. JEE- Mains examination and dasa will only work to get admission in my college for btech, and fir mtech through gate exam you can get in

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ration is less than expected, somewhere 1:40, but faculties here are good, approachable. Ece branch faculty members are so good, u can approach them at any time and discuss ur issues. Maths department faculties can be more better, its like hitting your head to a wall while talking to them. We have 2 quizes, 1 mid semester exam and 1 end semester exam, but some professors put randomly surprise quizzes, to get some normal 8+ cg, u don't have to study that much, its easy to get, but 9+ cgpa is little more than easy. So listening all the classes and studying like good enough of time will give you good enough cgpa

Placement Experience:

The institute records an impressive average package of ~INR 7.20 LPA and the highest packages reaching up to INR 53.50 LPA. The college actively drives employability through a dedicated 'Talent Transformation Hub'. Campus Placements Overview CIT is known for its solid industry connections, resulting in 80–90% placement rates annually. Top Recruiters: Companies like Accenture, Infosys, HP, Amazon, and Samsung. The Process: The placement cell conducts specialized skill-building boot camps and provides structured mentorship to ensure students are corporate-ready by graduation. If Placements Fall Short: Employability & Alternative Plans Even though CIT consistently places the vast majority of its batch, students who do not secure on-campus job offers (or wish to pursue other paths) have robust support through: Startup & Entrepreneurial Initiatives: CIT has an active E-Cell and a business connection to help budding founders. The Talent Transformation Hub focuses on practical knowledge needed to start a business. Higher Education: Students frequently leverage the college's alumni network and faculty mentorship to prepare for competitive exams like GATE, or to apply for Master's programs (MS, M.Tech) in India or abroad. Off-Campus Drives & Internships: Students are encouraged to undertake industry internships and live projects to build their portfolios, making it easier to land off-campus roles at top tech companies.

This is the best part. The whole point of niat program is to get a study for the job. It's not like the old system where you chill for 3 years and panic in the 4th year. All the learning here are very different. From the first day itself we will be doing coding.
