Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college strictly follows NMC rules and which is a very good thing as it helps us prepare for both theory and practical as theory give u the vast knowledge and practical allows us to imply what we learnt and also after the new rules of introducing histology we can also apply the idea of more creativity in a field a lot of creativity is yet to be unfolded they also cover important aspects through regular workshops and educate us with guest lectures from other colleges the important improvement which should be done is having the patience to teach a. Crowd of 250 which teachers should undergo special 2-3 classes to make sure they know what they teach is being reached out to everyone the timing of exam and everything is on time theh give us enough time to prepare and get ready

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The yearly fees is 23 lakhs Which is bout fair and there are no hidden charges in particular like other colleges no miscellaneous fees or any sort there will be exam fees which is seprate at the end of the year but aprat from that uniform and everything will be free of cost the resgistration during admission and everything will come upto 20k aprox but after that no more hidden charges of any sort and they also provide reservations for SC/ST as well with a scholarship for them as well to avail it u just have to have the certificate and they will definitely give you the scholarship

Campus Life

3.5

There is ethos coming up Pongal celebration onam celebration and etc but most fests are held once in 2 months or something to be fair it's not that great at all the books are available in the library which is very convenient to access we have smart board and projector which makes it easy for everyone to see from the back as well sports are prioritised and the college performces very well in sports as well

Admission

I applied to saveetha ramchandra psg etc and I did get all the colleges I applied for but I choose this because this was way more cheaper and affordable compared to other colleges which had hidden charges and year I wasn't rejected in any college I applied for the admission, process is simple u have to pass NEET with a good decent percentile during counselling I had applied this as my 5th preference and I got all my preferred colleges so I choose ACS since it was good and compact admission experience was pretty nice they explained me how this course is for the next 5.5 years and asked me if I can take up the job since it's not gonna be as easy as other courses

Faculty

3.5

The faculty are sometimes nice and sometimes rude it depends on which department and especially during exams irrespective of what it is they help you, so fair to say they help u at the last when u need it the most and my personal fav would be the entire biochemistry department and anatomy department who did an amazing job making my time in college easier the physiology department is a department I personally didn't like by the way they treated us and especially during the exams and even sometimes the teaching staff they get way too personal bout our lives which is very off limits and the exams there are bout 5 exams before the main one exam it's basically like unit tests to help us write the main exam and there are class tests conducted as well which is like almost every 2 week once which is helpful as well the university exam takes place during augest and it's pretty easy to clear not as hard as how people describe it but it's hard when U don't prepare unless u are prepared it's easy

Other Applied Colleges

PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research - [PSGIMSR] | Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

I felt ACS had better opportunities and exposure

I really liked the college aura and the environment all the professors were very good and most of them were very supportive throughout my 5 years and 6 months. Even during our internship days the students were given proper training so that in future there is no issues in this medical profession.

Positive thing is that students get a lot of clinical exposure because of the wide variety of cases we receive in the Madurai GRH. The negative aspect that I believe is that a good relationship doesnt exist between the teachers and the students.

I like the college for its diverse teaching patterns among the faculty. But I dislike the college for not having a playground, and a canteen. This is an upcoming college so I hope my future juniors would have much more benefits than me.

For undergraduation one can definitely choose Kilpauk Medical college. It has a decent academic, cultural and sports activities with necessary exposure. It is located in the heart of the city and is a small campus due to which it lacks services in a few departments which was compensated by institutes within the city.

This college is made up of "rules of discipline" which brings them a good reputation in surrounding areas and all over tamil nadu. They try to make the students to take disciplines of a doctor as a habbit so it may never leave.

Positives first:- 1)excellent teaching 2)beautiful campus. Pretty well maintained. Negatives:- 1) orthodox people 2) hostel mess food sucks. ( rice sambhar rasam and vadas mostly. Pretty monotonous food and for someone who is not from south India it sucks. 3) college canteen is ridiculously small It only serves biscuits, coffee ( no tea) Some shitty packed juice which doesn’t taste that good 4) the canteen only serves rice biryani dosa samosa coffee and bakery items and has very very limited options. 5) we are fined for everything. From coming late to forgetting id cards or not wearing uniforms.
