Remarks

Positives first:- 1)excellent teaching 2)beautiful campus. Pretty well maintained. Negatives:- 1) orthodox people 2) hostel mess food sucks. ( rice sambhar rasam and vadas mostly. Pretty monotonous food and for someone who is not from south India it sucks. 3) college canteen is ridiculously small It only serves biscuits, coffee ( no tea) Some shitty packed juice which doesn’t taste that good 4) the canteen only serves rice biryani dosa samosa coffee and bakery items and has very very limited options. 5) we are fined for everything. From coming late to forgetting id cards or not wearing uniforms.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

This curriculum has been in use since theb1970s but the duration has changed. The total duration of the course used to be of 5 years which has been reduced to 4 and half years now which led to reduction of 6 months from first year , which is the most difficult year consisting of anatomy(consists of histology , osteology, radiology, surface marking and gross anatomy) , physiology( theory and practicals) and biochemistry. ( theory and practicals)The first year has one university exam which has 9 exams, i.e 6 theory papers( 2 for each subject) and 3 practicals. The second year is of 18 months and one university exam, the third year is considered the final year and is again of 18 months followed by an internship.

Placement Experience

1.5

We have internships but only after we finish our 4 years of studies. The stipend is comparatively less ( around 2000-4000) and if you opt to do the internship outside the college then you must pay around 500000.

College Events

0.5

1)NO FRESHERS PARTY 2)Only one cultural event once a year in March and the students have to pay for it. It's not sponsored by college completely. 3)26 Jan and 15 August celebrations are okayish That's it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive. As compared to all the other colleges it is a little expensive and they charge for 5 years and not 4 and a half which they should be. That is a setback. Every year in the month of April- June you have to pay your fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college doesn’t give any loans or scholarships. No loans, no scholarships nothing. I don't know what to write for 200 characters about this. I mean there's no loan and scholarships nothing. They should consider this, please.

Campus Life

3.5

The labs are really good for practicals and studies but the sports ground and in hostel, volleyball court are not at all maintained. Sports infrastructure not up to the mark. Extracurricular activities include different clubs like arts, music, yoga, photography, and gaming which started this year but they will take their time to settle. It's good overall except for sports.

Hostel Facilities

1

Hostel infrastructure is good but doesn't do justice to the high fees( 1.55 lac for twin sharing attached bathroom room ). The water cooler doesn't work and there's no cold water to drink. Using kettles and induction plates are against the rules and you will be heavily fined if found using. Using HEADPHONES and SPEAKERS is not allowed and headphones have been taken away by the authorities.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really helpful here. Ragging is absolute but during culturals, the physical work like cleaning stones for cleaning the ground and everything is to be done by first years. Overall everyone is helpful here.

Faculty

5

The best part of this college is faculties. The faculties are highly educated and dedicated to teaching. One thing to be noted is all the faculties are full time faculties here which makes it very easy to reach them when needed. The concept of visiting faculties is not encouraged.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It deals with patient care and clinical diagnosis along with hands on training the influenced my decision to take up this course. Through ward postings, history taking and case discussion it prepares me well for my PG exams and further future pursuits. Skill based learning should be emphasised more along with small group teaching. Sometimes the close spacing of exams can be very stressful. Difficulty level is appropriate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.
