Remarks

This college is made up of "rules of discipline" which brings them a good reputation in surrounding areas and all over tamil nadu. They try to make the students to take disciplines of a doctor as a habbit so it may never leave.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

MBBS is considered as one of the toughest courses on the planet. There is so much information to be processed and understood in a very short time. There will be Internals every month for each subject. Models will be conducted at the end of the year before university exams. These makes sure that all that data gets understood properly for future.

Internships Opportunities

I am not an intern yet. An intern should do a one year internship in the respective hospital to get their doctor's liscence. They get only 12 days off in that one year and get the most out of that year. They should work in every department according to their posting.Eg- Anasthesia , ICU, orthopaedics etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

As of now Velammal students are one of the most preferred private trained doctors in Tamil nadu. Velammal instructs the young doctors to clear NEET-PG and get a neat PG placement as soon as possible.

4.5

Experanza - annual event that showcases student talents ,conducted every year at the time of april. Velammal Cup- sports event conducted every two years inviting other medical colleges for all kind of outdoor sport competitions. Small celebrations - on the occasion of festivals like diwali , pongal ,christmas etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since this is a private institution especially a medical college, fee is obviously expected to be high. And with this level of infrastructure and facilities ,this college only collects the government approved fee for education. Other fees like amenities and hostel fee is set up by the college management.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is provided to first graduates of government quota where Rs1.1 lakh is reduced from the total fee. More over college transfers Rs10000 every year to the student account. There is specific amount provided for classes like MBC ,SC ,ST etc.

There is also a basketball court , Swimming pool ,Gym ,library. Every department in the college have their own labs. All of these facilities are top class and are used everyday by the students.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel infrastructure is good. Two students alloted per room. Seniors and juniors have rooms in seperate floors. There are common halls for TV rooms, table tennis, carrom etc. There are seperate hostel buildings with 8 floors each for mens, ladies and the interns. Rooms are cleaned everyday including toilet and bathrooms. There is 24 hour security service in all buildings.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni and senior students are cooperating with institution and run along with them. They guide the fellow juniors to successfully proceed the course. In this college it is made sure that there is 0% ragging or abuse. There is not even one account of ragging filed in the college records. Seniors are very friendly and also help you to improve in sports.

Exam Structure

Internals will be conducted for every subject , Theory and practical seperately. Internal and model marks will be added to the final university marks. As of university exam there are two papers for each subject in theory. 50% is considered as pass% for any exam including internals.

Admission

Students are required to appear and pass the NEET-UG exam for medical students. After the announcement of NEET results students are required to apply for Counselling of their respective states. Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.
