Course Curriculum Overview
The research based curriculum influenced my decision to choose this course. This course more or less prepares us to compete in the research world and also prepares us to deal real world problems The first three semesters put a lot of burden and i feel most students don't get to study their majors properly which at times weakens their base I think the exams should be a less frequent which will enable us to give more time to absorb the subject

Campus Life
There is one annual fest called Cultvision which is organized every month in March Another is the fresher's welcome held in the month of September . Other small events are pre and post Durga Puja events which are celebrated with music and dance. We have a music room which is well equipped with many musical instruments like guitar , tabla , electronic tanpura, drums , piano , flute etc. We also have a big field where cricket , football, badmintion , tennis and volleyball are played . We also have a games room for many indoor games like table tennis , carrom , indoor football etc. There are several clubs like the music and dance club , photography club , art club , literature club . They have a huge impact on the students life since they actively take part in these recreational activities after college hours .
Admission
I applied to Christ College and Jain Universities in Bangalore and IISER Behrampur other than IACS I got confirmation from all of them but rejected Christ and Jain University because research exposure was not as good as in IISER and IACS In between IISER and IACS , i chose IACS because it was near my home and I could avail a bus to reach there. The admission process is through UPST exam for MS-MS students followed by an offline interview for those who clear the cutoff . Earlier KVPY scholars were also taken. The cutofff varies every year. Students should have Physics , Chemistry , Maths , Biology or Computer Science as their subjects in 12th standard. My overall experience was great .
Faculty
Most of the professors are very approachable and always help students when they ask for help. All the professors of the computer science department are extremely helpful, kind, and approachable. They regularly take our classes and are always there to help us with academic and non-academic advice. There are certain faculties in other departments who are extremely approachable and biased and often bully weak students or those who score lower marks. There are two exams per semester. Mid sem -25 marks, End sem -50 marks, and 25 marks for internals. These exams are from moderate to difficult levels. There are few students who fail to clear exams. The course curriculum is relevant from the point of view of research
