Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is brilliant as compared to other law colleges. One of the major achievement of this college is that our college gives the majority of judges to District Courts, High Courts and other courts. The pass out students are very successful in there particular fields and earning very nice. The curriculum prepares a student for real world application of the law and how to pursue with it relating it to the facts of a particular case. One major point of improvement is placement cell as there is no on campus placement in our college.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available in the college. Students can intern with lawyers and senior advocates working in various courts and arbitrations as well. By the end of the first year, almost every student establishes such links that he/she can get there internship placed themselves without the help of faculty. Internship includes observation of the working of various courts, research work on the law and drafting of the application and cases.
Fees and Financial Aid
So the fees is to be paid every semester. In the odd semesters, the fees is a bir higher than the even semesters. A general pay around 70000 in odd semester which includes both the tuition fees and the department development fees. And it is around 40000 in even semesters. Fees is increased after every 2 semesters by 3000-4000. Meanwhile fees for other categories of students like SC, ST and OBC is very less as compared to general category students
Campus Life
Campus life is quite good in the college. There are a lot of clubs and societies in the college of which students can be a part of. For eg Moot Court Society, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Client Counselling Board, Legal Aid Clinic and Society, Criminal Kustice Practicum Cell and etc. All the societies conduct varies educational events and fest throughout the year which is funded by the college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels of the campus are the most affordable. Hostel rent is only 1000 per month which includes everything except for the food. Meals are provided in the hostel mess which ranges between 40-50 rupees per student per meal. Hostels are not given to every student of the college. Students are alloted hostels based on there ranks in the entrance exam.
Admission
A separate entrance exam takes place every year for the admission in college. Students has to fill the application for available on the college website and pay a nominal fees of around 1500 for the entrance exams. Entrance exam takes place offline in the main campus of Panjab University in Chandigarh. Both the marks of 12th class and the marks of entrance exam are considered equally while calculating the rank of a student and after that counselling and admission process takes place. One area of improvement is that there should less number of reservations and introduction of interviews for the admission process to attract better crowd.
Faculty
Faculty is one of the positive aspects and reasons for why I opted for this college. There is a separate faculty for each and every law and they are brilliant in there work. They teach you why the particular law is made and how it is applied in practical cases. Teachers and professors are student friendly and any student can easily approach them for any doubt or any other problem.
