Course Curriculum Overview

5

I took up Btech in Mechanical Engineering because as a undergrad in that department with specific skill sets will lead me to all kind of sectors. Our ciricullar was designed in a picture perfect way comprising of sufficient theory and practical knowledge to understand the topics, moreover internships and industrial training were a part of the ciricullum which helped me to understand better the real-world usage of my learning. Each subject will have two tests throughout the semester and the average of those two tests will be added to the internal marks of that particular subject. At the end of the semester end-semester examination is conducted without any gaps between two subjects in a week, the exams are conducted in a strict manner with less to no probability of cheating, plus the examination sheets are also evaluated in a strict manner in line with other top universities.

Internships Opportunities

5

I got internship opportunities at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Guwahati Refinery, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. Arunachal Pradesh and North East Institute of Science and Technology Jorhat with reference from faculty in the department without paying any fees. Incase you cannot make it through fees free internships you can opt for fees paid internships from the companies that are tied up with our university.

Placement Experience

5

The university offers sufficient placement opportunities to al the students of the university, however most of the students don't appear as the package mostly ranges between 3-4LPA and the job profiles are mostly not relivant to the domain of course. However, the university makes sure that eveyone atleast gets a job after completion of his degree. A student is offered companies from 7th semester onwards. Some big compainies like Amazon, Sutherland Global, Genpact, ESSAF Bank, HDFC, Zomato, Hike Educations, Tech Mahindra etc comes in the campus. I got placed in 8 companies from campus and currently working in Sutherland Global Services for the process of IT Support Engineer, it is a WFH job and the payscale is more than the average payscale of KU

Fees and Financial Aid

As a National Student without any scholarship I paid, Rs 700/- while applying for the University, then I was charged with Tution Fee of Rs. 55,000/- Per Semester. Plus, during admission one time admission fee was charged which is Rs 20,000/- and one time registration fee was charged as Rs 10,000/-. Moreover, in every odd semesters they charge a club fee worth of Rs.1600/- . In addition if you ever get a backlog in any subject you need to pay a fee of Rs. 300/- per paper to reappear in that examination. For International Students: Tution Fee is $720/- Per Semester. Plus, during admission one time admission fee is charged as $390/- and one time registration fee is $1300/- In addition, Students with 95 Percentage and above in12th Boards will be eligible for 100 Percentage Scholarship on tuition fees, while those scoring between 90-95% recieve 70% scholarship. A 50 percentage scholarship is given to 85-90% scorers, and 30% Scholarship for those who have scored between 80-85%.

Campus Life

4.5

Annual Fest Talent Tantra was organized few years back but in recent time it is discontinued. In recent times Karyonix is being organized. Moreover, some events keep on happening around the year. Plus, TechBlitz is a big event where diploma/12th grade students from different parts comes to the university to see the projects by students of different departments, etc. The library is well equipped with all the books, plus it also has question papers of all the semesters from the past for reference during examination times. The classrooms are well equipped with projectors and speakers and all the necessary. Sports is celebrated in the campus duiring sports week and some sports events are also organized timely by the sports club. There are clubs named as Body and Soul, Entrepunership, Art and Culture, Sports, Coding etc those are run by the teacher coordinator and the students.

Admission

A student must be passed in his 10+12 Examination with Physics and Mathematics compulsory for BTech in Mechanical Engineering with at least 45% percentage marks (40% in case of SC/ST). The application form is available on Kaziranga University's official website or one can visit the campus as well. No entrance examination/ interview is conducted during admission.

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio was proper in our department with one on one interaction and personal guidance in the classroom itself, moreover, more demanding departments have sections within the same semester for better student to teacher ratio. Most of the faculties are graduates from eminient universities/colleges of India. The faculty members hold a good grasp of the topics and continously include competitive exam questions in the syllabus for future betterment. The teachers are very approachable and a group of some students are assigned with a mentor who guides the students with mental health, overall growth, academics etc.

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart, aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle, ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
