Kaziranga University: Physiotherapy Department of SHS

I was quite intrigued by medical field so i opted for this course and it is very much to my liking. I find all the courses added in the curriculum are very much important because it is all related to the topics and cases I'll be needing to treat my patients. The college has also added internship in the course which has given us more idea about our course. The course curriculum is very much okay but for the teaching method the lectures should teach in a language which all the students can understand. The exam is held for 3 hours for 70 marks and as the questions are set by our professors it is just as I've said before easy if we study.

For my batch mate we had the opportunity to go for internship in our first year. Though i don't know about the other department for our department we had to search for our own place of Internship. The internship was held for 120 hours but didn't include much activities as the internship was mainly for observation purposes.

Yearly fee structure is 90000 i.e 45000 each for one semester. Admission is only once in the first year and it's 20000. So far there's no increase in the fee structure. The registration fee was done for a sum of 10000 in the first year which included the charges for the uniform and club fees. Beside that there's no charges for lab or any other reason. The college provides scholarship for merit based students, students whose parents are in the military and students who got reward from state level in any sports.

My overall campus life has been so far so good. There are many functions and festivals held in the university like Bihu, Holi, Diwali , etc. The library provides a wide range of books for students and it is easy accessible. The main sports played in the university are Football, Cricket, basketball, Vollyball and badminton. There are many clubs in the university and each hold activities regularly mainly the creation club that functions the university ig page. The basketball club also have their own ig page including the NCC . I myself indulge myself into playing Volleyball, Basketball and Badminton.

The hostel offers room of 2 seater with ac and non acc , 3 seater, 4 seater and dorm. The hostel provides a wardrobe, table , chair, bed, mattress for each student. Though there would be an improvement in the meal quality and menu. They provide egg on Monday and Wednesday dinner , fish on Friday and chicken on Saturday. Breakfast is provided at 7:30 with menu like tea, black tea, bread , cornflakes, milk, roti, paratha, puri, egg . Lunch is provided at 12, snacks at 5:30 and dinner at 9:30. The hostel registration can be done together while doing the admission and it's quite affordable.

I applied for this university as it is near to my state. The admission process was quite easy i just had to go to the website and register. After I did my registration a counselor from the University contacted me about the process for the admission. I did my admission online. For my course the eligibility was to pass in Biology chemistry and physics with 60% mark in the subject in the 12th standard doens't require any exam for acceptance. The overall admission process was easy and swift.

There are lots of faculty as there are many departments. In my department there are about 300-350 students with 5 faculties and 1 assistant. My favourite faculty would be Ma'am Anamika Sahu as she is pretty good at what she's doing. She gives the best lectures and advises, she is the best professor i could ask for in this university. My least favorite would be my HOD Ma'am Manisha Talukdar because she's quite strict and unreasonable, she doesn't try to understand our situation. In one semester which is for 6 months there are 2 sessional exam which adds up to the internal marking. The sessional exam are held for 30 marks. The internal mark also adds up the assignment. The final exam is held for 70 marks . There are also practical exam which is held for 100 marks. The exam was quite easy if you study. Though there are few students who fails who clear all the papers. The courses are all important for the future assesment.
