Likes

Facilities, faculties, clubs, networking, good focus on studies, programs and events, internship and placement opportunities along with training. Having good connections with neighboring colleges. Giving good opportunities for students.

Dislikes

College is very much far away from city or towns
It is very difficult to get to the college, the road is way too twisted. And there are no good shops nearby
The curfew time of college is 6:45 while KTU has issued notice to increase the curfew time yet the college hasn't done anything to increase it.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum needs to be updated on a very high deal cause a lot of subjects which does not requires are being taught by the university. It would be a great deal of help if they could actually provide us with real useful subjects on various domains

Internships Opportunities

We have a Japan internship opportunity and a Taiwan one. Once 3 students from our college and 2 from CUSAT were selected for Japan internship were selected for Japan internship from the whole country.

Placement Experience

Placement levels are extremely good for all the departments. We have a lot of recruiters visiting our campus along with students of nearby colleges who get here for Placements. The college also provides excellent Placement training by Niyati solutions right from the first year itself.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year fees I have paid for both my first and second year are 80 thousand rupees. I'll be paying the same for 2 more years. This is the fees of a student who got into Btech in Computer Science and Engineering of this college through merit seat which is by keam exam allotment. For management seat, the fees goes upto 1.2 lakhs. Not sure about the NRI seats ocer here. We have no sorts of donation required for the admission process. Fee wavier is alloted for students with very high ranks in keam exam and it will go upto 15k to 30k per year. Othe branches have comparatively lower fees than compared to CS. Other branches also has numerous scholarships whereas CS doesn't have any.

Campus Life

We have clubs for tinkerhub, iedc, ieee, foss, sirst, nss, koot, fashion team, d2r for dance etc. Our cultural fest is named vipanchika and we also have our own hackathons and tech based events. They are extremely good.

Hostel Facilities

Three students per room. The mess fee for a day is 150 while hostel fee is 2k per month. In ladies hostel you will have to pay even if you didn't take the food but they provide food on coupons in boy's hostel. The curfew is at 6:45 pm, it should have been increased by now. The first year toilets are all good but it gets worse for 2nd and other higher years in the main ladies hostel

Admission

I got admitted in my third allotment through keam exam. I had a very low score but I got in via OBC reservation. The exam was difficult comparing all the previous years yet we managed to get through to this prestigious college however

Faculties are all well educated with high level degrees and takes a great deal of time to interact with students and hear and attend to their needs. They are very supportive and are all ears when approached with something.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I chose this course because the curriculum covers key subjects like Python, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Deep Learning right from the early semesters. The inclusion of electives such as IoT, Cloud Computing, and NLP made it future-relevant and versatile.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

The other colleges i applied was all govt colleges.i couldn't got the rank to get there because i got less rank in keam exams.so i choose the best college i could get on my marks. I got 25526 rank in keam examination such that i cracked in here and also i wanted to be here because my super seniors where here they also insisted me that scms school of engineering is a good college.our college is a managemental college accredited by govt either we should crack keam exam or we should jee exam or we be nri quota. SSET- from the viewpoint of a student

I applied to government colleges and MITS ,RIST and FISAT too among with SSET. But I got confirmation letter from SSET in my first allotment itself. I choose SSET because it has a great infrastructure and wide possibility of opportunities. One of my relative was an alumni of this college and I got to know about the college from her perspective. The response I got from others whenever I asked about my college was really positive and hence I chose SSET. I never got rejection from other colleges I applied to, I simply chose to settle in the first college I got allotted after my KEAM Rank list got published. I chose SSET over other colleges because other colleges were really expensive and I never wanted to push my family to go through such a hard time just for my education. Even though I got admitted to a really great college with a high quality course the fees there in one sem was twice the amount I had to pay in SSET for a year The admission process of my college was quite simple.All we had to do was submit my certificates and sign a few papers. It Lasted only one and half hours. The eligibility to get here included passing the KEAM Exam and having 50% or more pass mark in plus two. The student must have studied Science subject with either Biology or Computer Science as the main Subject. My overall admission experience was really great. One of the best college with friends what i have got

I did choose this college because my friends were there with me while joining the college and one of my cousin was already studying here.no i had applied in Christ college banglore since i had completed my schooling in abroad I didn't want to join a college outside my homeplace so i opted for this college. SCMS Ernakulam

I choosed this college because it has good team of faculties and a good placement. The on campus placement drive in this college includes big companies like cognizant, IBM, wipro, Mitsogo, EY etc.. This college has a good infrastructure but the main attraction of this college is the placement drives. The college has good library which have a wide range of books and a lab which can handle 60 students in a single hall. This college is one of the leading college in ernakulam. I applied to SNM Maliankara where there i got seat confirmation. I choose SCMS over SNM because scms have a good placement offers and faculties compared to SNM. And infrastructure and extra curriculam activities attracts me. I got rejection from rajagiri college in ernakulam. I got rejected because the seat for computer science was filled earlier I am sharing my details which the admmission process of management seat First we need to register in their official college site by paying a small amount of INR 200. Then they will contact you for a advance payment for resrving your seat with INR 25000 which they will reduce this from fees when admiting. Then after the result of keam enterance exam they will contact you for paying the reamaing fee and appoin a day for admiting. Then the admission criteria is over.
