Remarks

For an instance I was in Section T of the college, and my friends were in section R. I went to a senior teacher crying and sulking about it, he changed my section within moments he was so friendly and helpful. You can understand how extremely helpful they are.

Entrance Preview

I passed out from ISC board getting 81.75% in Commerce Stream. This college is highly famous for Accounts rather than any other group like science or commerce. It is on the 3rd number in the preferable lists of colleges after Goneka and Seth Anandram Jaipuria College. The travelling is also very easy as the location is pretty decent, it has bus routes and train routes both close to the college. And for safety, the Amherst Street Police Station is right in front of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college is highly informative about the latest techniques and changes made in the syllabus and ways of the subjects concerned.

Placement Experience

3.5

Yes our college provides Internship, our professor informed that 12 students were provided with jobs last year. The studies are high end so there is competition among the students, the best of the best are selected by these big companies for the jobs.

College Events

3.5

There are two big celebrations held every year, which includes the social which is the annual event of the college and obviously the freshers. The freshers is more like a festival to us, its held for 2 to 3 days. And the celebration is grand. It is held in a big place with a great budget, even singers and famous people are invited. Our college is known for its cultural programs. Apart from this small programs are held for rakhi and durga puja.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is extremely low. The college took Rs 2420 for the admission including fees for 3 months. The fees are more or less around Rs 100 per month. That is very low for such a big college like this. This is very very cheap according to the current fees structure of other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college is a government college and very prestigious too. That is why many scholarships and loans are offered to poor people. Many are provided from the university or college.

Campus Life

3.5

Even the college union or the political union is very helpful, colleges usually contains 2 to 3 political parties but our college has only one which makes it a very peaceful place, there are no gender ratio like that, its equal. your eligibility to get admission in the college totally depends on the fact of your marks. Infact there is a rule of the college which says that no students can take bribe or force someone to pay money for the union.

Hostel Facilities

4

The canteen food is pretty good, There is also a meal card which can provide you with a whole thali regularly. It is very hygenic and tasty as well. The college has 2 canteens and there are many cheap shops just outside the college. The college canteen is very cheap and contains food like tea, bread, sandwich, paratha, chilli chiken, veg thali, chowmein etc etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors and staffs are extremely friendly and helpful towards new students. So helpful, like they lend a helping hand towards you from the beginning, even the general secretary is very sweet and helpful to the students they take such care towards new students.

Exam Structure

There are 2 exams per year, one in January, A mock test and the final in June or July. No the exams are not hectic at all, I personally prefer exams as they help us prepare for the best. 2 exams per year is normal and required for the development of the students.

Faculty

4.5

The Professors are highly interested in teaching and helping the students in any matter. They are very friendly and would make out time to help in any matter of studies and even problems faced in college. each subject is separated into further groups and each group is taken by one teacher so that he can focus on his part the best. This helps the students to practice more and more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen my specific course (Bcom) because it is more of a comfortable course for me and it's easy for me to understand the course more easily and effectively. Although the curriculum is strong in commerce subject AI, Data analysis, Fintech. These types of emerging technology could also be enhanced. The frequency and timing of the exams are very friendly to students because they get a longer period of time to complete their syllabus and the difficulty level is pretty good as it comes under Calcutta University.

The college placements are low just like other colleges the might have chance if he /she scored good marks in every semester exams and have good skill in their streams .As I told before that I might do MBA after my B.com. The 30% to 40% students are placed by the college . The packages offered to students are between 45000 to 60000 per month.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. I choose this course for my personal interest and also for practical knowledge about how commercial business works. 2. Over the days i can feel that The college department and curriculum wouldn't help you to grow. 3. Obviously the NEP programme need to be changed asap , cause there's so much subject which aren't related to commerce, like language paper and that ENVS subject. We are just like grabbing knowledge here and there but in reality I choose this course just for specific knowledge and research for accounts, but everything is opposite. 4. I can tell that the exam thing is the only thing i can agree with. The timeings are like not bad.
