Course Curriculum Overview

5

As computer science and technology are growing faster day by day, so by keeping this in mind I decided to do computer science and technology. The curriculum prepares us in various ways such as conducting different types of hackathons, events of codings, seminars in which the industry experts interact with us, and many more. Talking about improvement there should be more events and more participation so that it helps more. Lpu conducts many exams first CA which is also known as class assessment which conducted after the completion of chapters and then mid-term the difficulty level of the mid-term rises high after that at the end of the semester end terms are conducted through which our CGPA is calculated for the whole semester and the difficulty level of End Terms is more than the mid-term.

Internships Opportunities

5

There are so many companies that come for internships taking one company like Placify. First, they gave training for 2 months in which we had to attend online sessions and after that, we were given 2 tasks 1 minor and 1 major which helped us to understand the language more practically after that they offered us an internship in which the given projects we have to complete on a given time.

Placement Experience

5

6th-semester students are eligible for campus placements. Around 2000+ companies come every year for the placements companies that come such as amazon, Microsoft, adobe, google, flipkart, etc. The average package that is gone is 8-9L and the highest package is 54.08L. In 2023 the percentage of students getting placed was 85-90%. My plans after getting a degree is that i will get a job and prepare for the master's degree from abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees for 2023 was 120000/semester through which i was carrying the 25% scholarship so my fees is 90000 and the tution fees will not increase till your 8th semester it will remain same for every semester. Talking about hostel fees the hostel fees is 100000 for 4 seater Ac room and mess charge that is 34000 so total hostel fees for 4 seater ac room is 124000. The scholarship is based on the lpunest exam which is conducted by lpu and also CUET, JEE result also can help in your scholarship if you have scored well.

Campus Life

5

There are around 100+ clubs in the lpu which conducts different types of events. In lpu there is a central Library which is so huge and around 2000 students can easily sit and study also it has a perfect books collection. Talking about sports the lpu has a perfect cricket team, kabbadi team. Talking about now 24 lpu studemts are playing in paris olympics 2024. The students who runs clubs and all help them to get a good experience of conducting the events. Also help them to grow financially.

Hostel Facilities

5

As I am living in 4 seater AC room so there is 1 bed, 1 studt table and 1 mattress provided for you talkng about room in room there is a balcony, mirror and 1 almirah. The hostel food is good daily menu changes so you will not get bore with the same food. The registration process you can continue from the lpu website after making your application you can further apply for a hostel in which you have to pay 10k to book the room. If you wanted the rooms near lpu then you can prefer Law Gaye, green valley, Phagwara in which you can get a room in 7-8k/month

Admission

Talking about eligibility criteria you have to score 60% or above in 10+12. You can find the application form on the main website of lpu. If you reserve your seat before then you get 10000 less in hostel fees. The difficulty level of lpunest exam in medium all the 10+12 syllabus is there.

Faculty

5

The faculties are so good and well educated, they always help the students to clearify the doubts the teaching sense makes the topic more clear and practical. Faculties are always there for the students they work so hard to get the best for the students. The way they teach, the way they motivate helps to grow more easily and faster. Faculties teach us in such a way that they interact with everyone in the class so that any student should not left behind. They take the class tests every week after completing the topics which they had teached which helps us to understand the topic more easily

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
