Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course on its own is not so tough it basically includes how geography is influenced by factors like social, political, economical and cultural basis and also covers how geography influences life conditions and factors. I was interested to study about earth and to know about it more so i opted for it. Overall i had fun learning about various things about geography in it.

Internships Opportunities

4

Intership opportunities were basically available with the placement cell that was available in the college. Most of the placements that students got were through the cell and there is no specific incentive provided by it other departments or any other society. Students had to join the placement society and go through interviews and selection processes for the placements and internships.

Placement Experience

3

In the geography course there were hardly any placements and internships, students had to opt for other internships that were available in the placement cell of the college. As per my views there should be internships for geography too as there are many career options in it and students don't even get to know about it due to lack of placements and opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course is quite costly in comparison to others. It has a fee structure of around 20-23k per year. Now it may be more or less as two years have gone by and new academic changes have taken place. There are scholarships that are given to people who have financial instability, for which interviews are conducted with the interested students and then some of their amount is returned (40-70%). There are fewer placements and internships for geography as provided by the college you have to go for other common internships like management and data operation.

Campus Life

4

There are many clubs a person can go for. NCC, NSS, Fashion Society, art society, Hindi society, and one newly introduced during our course was a civil services society. As we go for sports the ground itself is good but there are no coaches or physical instructors that taught any game. Students bought their own equipment and played in the ground. And as for the library, it is big and spacious and provides a good silent environment

Admission

The admission process was quite simple. I took admission in first cut off as i had good scores in my 12th exams. It took around 1-2 days in confirmation of my application after I applied for the college. I would say the admission process was simple and hassle free.

Faculty

5

The staff is highly qualified. I was in geography honors, and the teachers there were very helpful and great at teaching. The permanent staff has some great experienced teachers like Tejbir Rana, Lalita Rana, and Preeti Tiwari and the assistant professor staff has some too like Himanshu Mishra, Rashmi Singh, Ekta Batra, and many more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

My course is on a difficult side . There are subjects like statistics and maths which are too practical and hard . But this opens my mind towards practical approaches. Moreover the demand for this course is much more then its related courses like bcom and bba.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements
