Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course which I opted for in this college is very nice I opted for computer science and engineering which is nowadays best for the students to pursue in their life as we all know that AI is moving far and far so which is also made by an engineer.

Internships Opportunities

5

Our college gives many internship programs to the students before the last year of the students. Many students get internships to work from home and some get opportunities to go to Bangalore, Pune, Gurgaon, Delhi, Chandigarh, etc. Many of the seniors live in the hostel and describe all about the college and its internship so we all heard and know that college placement and internship are very nice. A student gets a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge from college and internships.

Placement Experience

5

Our college offers great placements for the students. Here almost every student gets a job as a lot of recruiters come to our college for mass placements and last year our college students got the highest package around 54 lakhs per annum from Amazon which is a great thing for a college. Here many alumni come to interact with the students and encourage them to rise like them. As we all know Ammy Virk is also an alumnus of our college who is very much successful in his career. Here in our college many companies visit for the process of placements like Amazon, cognizant, Deloitte, Mahindra, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Chandigarh engineering college landran has a lot of courses along with a Bachelor of Technology in computer science and engineering. CSE has 110000 rs /- as a fee Structure for college and has to pay exam fees whenever the student's final University exam appears. The college also offers many scholarships and many plans for students who are not financially stable and can't afford their fees and other services.

Campus Life

5

I enjoyed myself a lot in college. The college activities, fun, hackathons, inter-college hackathons, competitions, etc. made the life of a student great with fun and excitement. Here our college does religious path i.e guru granth sahib ji Akhand path for the betterment of the students, teachers, and the college before starting of every new year of the students' studies and also distributes langars in the college and even to the poor who can't even have one time meal of the day. Our college classrooms are also very nice and fully technically active. We have smart rooms, an auditorium, parivartan ground and other grounds for the college activities. We have seminar halls on each floor of the block.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Our hostel in living is amazing, we get peace in the rooms whereas the hostel also celebrates each and every festival and day with the students and for the students who live so far from their parents and can't go to their homes for the celebration of the festivals. So the hostel warden becomes our parents and celebrates each and every festival with us. The quality of the food is very nice but not good in taste always. The hostel has many bathrooms and washrooms at each floor in good and clean condition, we even have TV rooms and study rooms for the students. So they can get a good environment for living.

Admission

The college admission process is simple. The student needs to have at least 75% in their post-matriculation that is 12th. There is no need for any exam to enter the college. The college admission process is simple and not complicated.

Faculty

5

Our college faculty is very kind and generous to the students as well as parents. Our teachers are very supportive and helpful to the students. If a student is behind then the teacher takes extra lectures and brings back that child along with other students in studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
