Remarks
If you have a motive to study then CUSAT is extremely wonderful, otherwise, the place is too hot.
Entrance Preview
This college has a strong past and an even stronger reputation (in and outside India). Moreover, alumni from this college are all well settled which reflects the quality that this institute posses. Government colleges are a major 'look for' in our country.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course and curriculum are the very top notch in this college. The course followed is the same as that being followed in IIT MADRAS. I must admit that the course curriculum in entire Kerala is the best in the country. The course is followed religiously and helps quite a lot for Gate and other exams.
Internships Opportunities
No, but the college has made an internship strictly mandatory In the syllabus. The faculty members to help a lot in fetching internships
Placement Experience
Placements and Job opportunities are something that attracted me. Many tier-A companies are coming every year for placements and also some PSU's are coming. Job opportunities are decent once you pass out with the tag of CUSAT. Gulf Countries offer jobs easily.
College Events
Science Fest called Innovia is there in January, Cultural Fests are there which are named as Sattva and Dhishna which are there in February and March. Dhishna is one of the most enthralling events of the university. Other departments also conduct their fests regularly
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a Government college, I'd say that in my opinion, the fee structure is quite lenient in CUSAT, it's around 40-45k per semester including exams and everything. Talking about feasibility, I'd say that this would not have a definite answer as this would differ from person to person
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed any scholarship from the college but there are frequent announcements being made regarding scholarships
Campus Life
Campus Life is terrific in CUSAT, you'll come across many valuable friends and have many memories once you leave CUSAT. Time flies in CUSAT, rightly said, I still remember my first day here like it was just yesterday. I don't know whether it's the same in every college but yes, campus life is terrific.
Hostel Facilities
Honestly speaking, there was a kind of terror in my mind regarding the food as I am a person who loves eating and I live to eat The North Indian food that you'll get here, I bet you won't get this flavor in any other college. Pure homely taste, all the cooks are either from Bihar or from Nepal
Alumni/Alumna
There is a group on Facebook where all the Alumni of CUSAT can be contacted. They will help you a lot.
Exam Structure
There are frequent examinations going on in CUSAT. The passing criteria are quite high, that is 50 percent. Out of 100, 40 marks are for internal evaluation and 60 marks for external evaluation and you need to pass in both external and internal individually, Even if you score a 40 in internal but fail to score 27 in external, you'll fail
Admission
I applied for CUSAT CAT (cusat.nic.in) somewhere in January and there was a computer-based entrance exam in May. Rank List was published and based on previous records I was liable to get admission, so I attended the counseling. Since the last year, counseling is now an online process.
Faculty
Well, I don't think that I am worthy to judge or assess my faculty members but I would like to say that they did inculcate an urge to learn rather than just to mug up and vomit in exams. The faculty members are quite supportive and friendly too. The hesitation is lost with such faculty member.
