GCEK-Best Engineering College in Northern Kerala

Gce Kannur is under APJ Abdul Kalam Technology University.And it follows KTU's syllabus.Our batch is following 2019 scheme but ktu is going to introduce a new syllabus in 2024.Our syllabus is little bit older and some updations is neeeded.

Actually there is very less companies which come to college and select students for internships.We have to prepare individually and apply for internships then we can get internship with stipend.There are some paid internship students do for certificates.

The campus placement in the last year is little bit lesser comparing to the previous years. Like all other engineering colleges most of the recruiters are IT companies. Core companies are lesser comparing with IT companies.

The tuition fees in GCE Kannur is very low as it is a government institute.The tution fees per year is around 9650 only.And most of the students can apply scholarships which cover full amount of their tuition fee.

The campus life at GCE kannur is very good. There are so many active clubs inside the campus like IEEE, ISTE, IEDC, NSS, NCC,etc.While talking about sports facilities GCE Kannur has a big football/cricket ground, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton courts,etc.

There are 2 hostel blocks for boys and 3 hostel blocks for girls. Hostel admission is based on the income and distance from home. The hostels offers good facilities. In each room there will be 3 members. And in each room there will be tables, chairs, shelves,etc. Hostel food is very nice. We have non-veg in almost 4-5 days. We have biriyani in 2 days per week. The hostel fee per month will be around 2000-2500 only.

The admission in this college is based on the entrance exam KEAM conducted by Government of Kerala. Students who passed 12th in science stream can attend KEAM exam. And polytechnic students can get admission into second year by lateral entry.There is seperate exam for that.

The faculties in gec kannur are well educated and experienced.Most of them are senior faculties but there is some new joined faculties. Majority of the faculties are very friendly and maintain a good relation with all the students.
