What Students Say
Likes
- The college is in the outskirts of Bengaluru and thus is peaceful. If you want to commute, then Pattanagere metro is alongside college. So travelling, there is no problem. the campus is green. At weekdays, you would find solace.
- I live in Cauvery hostel which is an inside campus. So I can go to classes on time without having to bear the pain of waking up early. In hostel I have made friends from different departments. Being boys we waste quality time together.
- We have a library which has vast collections of books, volumes, journals, publications, But very few number of students study rigorously.
Dislikes
- The college campus though adequate to accommodate the students of all branches and years, is not as big as prominent NITs, leave IITs. It is a small 15 acre camous with four hostels- Cauvery, Krishna, Chamundi, and DJ.
- We have to be inside the hostel by 10 pm, you'll have to sleep outside.
- There is no ragging. I know you all will be thinking that I am a prejudiced person. But in an engineering college there should be some minimal ragging which brings discipline in the juniors. IITs have very good tradition of ragging.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am doing BE Computer Science and Engineering. I have a passion for physics. This course gives me essential skills in computer science to pursue my passion in research in physics. The course allows you to be in touch with and learn new technological advancements that are taking place in the field of Computer Science. But after coming to college what I have felt is curriculum is marks oriented not learning oriented. So course can be improved by incresing hands-on. We have three internals and three quizzes for eight subjects spaced between the intervals of 1-2 months. We being engineers study a night before. The exams are not that difficult. I feel that exams are taking out all the pleasure out of college life.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you are having a cet seat then per year you colllege fees will be Rs. 1 lakh But if comed-k that the fees doubles, per year fees will be Rs. 2 lakh. Fom management fees differ from branch to branch CS 68lakhs ECE 37lakhs CSE(AIML) 50 lakhs ISE 50 lakhs EEE 20 lakhs IEM 16 lakhs ASE 30 lakhs BT 24 lakhs CSE(Cyber Security) 50 lakhs CSE(Data Science) 50 lakhs Mnagement fees is hefty. Admission
I wrote KCET in 2023 and my rank was 319. I applied for KCET counselling and in the third round i got a seat in RVCE in BE in CSE. The 2023 cutoff was 361 for CSE. Eligibility of the course:Candidates must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 65% in mathematics. KCET: KCET UGCET provides engineering ranks based on marks of Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Every year UGCET is conducted by KEA in Karnataka. The official notification is released in cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea. It is conducted in the month of April or May. Physics is harder that JEE Mains, while Maths and Chemistry are easier compared to JEE Mains. I faced problems in counselling. As we approached third round of counselling the process became slow and tested the patience. So there is a scope of improvement in the couselling to make it smooth.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is quite good 1:13. This implies that the focus on an individual student will be significant. All the professors are having atleast MSc or MTech as post grad. Some are alumni of top institues of India like IISc, IIT, IIEST, IIST and many more. My electrical engineer professor is from IIEST, Shibpur. He teaches electrical well. Coming to interaction with teachers, we can call them in emergency. Else we have class emails, whatsapp groups, google classrooms.
Other Applied Colleges
IISER | 5 year BS MS
I did not want to go out of state.
